Ok for a night
Greeting upon arrival was unenthusiastic and information was missing, such as where breakfast is served and that water in the mini bar was complementary. The lifts are noisy and I was scared of them! The building is very cold, it was warmer outside than the corridors. The room was standard, painted nice and had amenities that were needed, clean fresh towels and bedding. The bed was comfortable but an additional duvet during the winter months would have been a welcomed addition. There were no bath robes. The room was clean and tidy. Overload on warnings about various things. A lovely view of the Tyne. Nice lighting and good sized tv. Chairs weren’t very comfortable. Heating system in the room was noisy and there was a ‘clunk’ noise coming from somewhere. Breakfast was disappointing, wasn’t asked if we had allergies or intolerance.

Tired and in need of refurb - but Cheap
A very tired hotel which seems
To be in a time warp in the 1980’s. Room very old but cleanliness ok. Linen hard as was the bed. Good location for Arena and has own car park. Price was £90 for a club room which included breakfast x2 and two £7.50
Drinks vouchers so cost was little more than £60 to stay ….

Breakfast ends too early.
It is a lovely hotel but the breakfast ending at 10, when checkout is noon is very dated and frustrating when you want a nice lie in. It also means they can’t cope with the volume of people trying to have breakfast as late as possible so lack of food, glasses, cups, stressed out staff and tired customers…most hotels serve until at least 11, with some serving right up until check out time.

Friday night stay
A favourite hotel of ours. Generally reasonablely priced, adjacent car park, centrally located with lovely views of river. Booked a club room which is larger than standard. Only downside was strange shallow bath tub and shower head which was placed at chest level.

Food and beverage service a let down
The lobby and restaurant area are ok however the bedrooms are tired and the bathrooms could do with an upgrade. The bed was uncomfortable.
Food and drinks service needs improving, had to ask for plates to be cleared whilst staff stood chatting. Bar closed early leaving customers coming back from a concert without a drink. We were told breakfast was served until 10am however when we went at 9.35 were then told it had finished at 9.30am, leaving many guests hungry. The hotel needs to be more customer focused and flexible rather than sticking to rigid rules that leave guests hungry and thirsty

I’ve stayed in better travelodges .
Was expecting way more for a 4 star hotel. Place looked grubby and old. No charging cables near bed and super deluxe river view room was heated up with 2x heaters and one didn’t work. Greta view of river and the breakfast was great. Staff were friendly.

Great hotel but staff not so good
Great hotel have stayed many times before. Food was great but person taking order did not listen and ended up with two dinners when there were three of us . There was no excuse for this so ended up waiting for another dinner to be cooked so we were not able to sit and enjoy together. Ruined the day after a long day traveling. So disappointed.
