We loved absolutely everything about Oarsman's Bay Lodge-the beach, accommodation, surroundings, activities, food and especially the staff. We went to 2 other islands afterwards, and realised how spoilt we'd been at OBL. It was everything we'd dreamed of, and a lot more. Thank you to ALL the staff, who were like family. We had the holiday of a lifetime, and will definitely be back. This is the place for the true Fiji experience. Cannot give a higher review or recommendation. Thanks team OBL.

Beach was wonderful. Had this been first place we stayed we would have given higher marks, but stayed first at another island resort that had choices for meals instead of fish, fish, and more fish. Service at other resort better too as never had to ask for anything as someone always asking and attentive to our wishes.

Excellent Island Adventure
The staff were absolutely wonderful, they made had everything we needed and were very helpful. hey served 2 meals of fish per day, cooked in a different recipe for each meal. Sounds like a lot of fish but it was delicious. Very nice place for swimming and snorkelling. They have free use of paddle boards and kayaks which is a nice touch. Highly recommend it!

8/10 Very Good

We came here for the last leg of our honeymoon and this was our first time in Fiji. The staff was wonderful - so sweet and accommodating and always willing to try to help us. The water temperature for the shower was very finicky, but the bathroom/shower outside was very cool. Our bure was very comfortable and we had a kitchen but it did not have any pots/pans plates/silverware. It was nice to have a refrigerator though. The water comes up pretty close to the bures which was really nice, and you're able to walk right out into the water for snorkeling. We used the facility next door for our scuba activities and diving. They accommodated me fairly well for being a vegetarian as they only offer one meal for lunch and dinner with fairly the same breakfast choices daily. Some more variety with their meals, and maybe some options for mid-day to eat would be a good idea as there are no other places nearby to eat and if the kitchen is closed you can't get any food besides chips at the bar. We did enjoy the community feel and our last night there was the Lovo dinner buffet and a Kava ceremony afterwards which was wonderful. Thank you Ben, Anna and Joe for all of your help during our stay - you guys were great. If you enjoy a small, community style, simple stay in Fiji, this place will fit you just fine.

6/10 Good

The situation of the property is second to none with the most beautiful scenery, staff are all very friendly and helpful with lots of activities to take part in. The only reason I havent given a higher score is purely based on the food which was all fish, I don't eat fish at all so I opted for the vegetarian option but I just felt that the $98 was expensive.

4/10 Fair

The staff and location are fabulous! The actual Bures are terrible. We stayed in Bure 4 for 3 nights. The size and amenities of the bure were fine. However, the screens were filthy with bugs, there were spider webs on the bench in our room, our sheets had sand, and we could not escape ants and mosquitos - in or out of the room. The only relief was in the ocean. Additionally, the outdoor shower worked fine if scalding water, lukewarm and ice cold water in random rotation with minimal pressure are your idea or working fine. The food was fabulous! I happen to love fish but if you don't, I have no idea what you will eat. Lunch and Dinner is limited to the single option which is fish. Breakfast is pastries, fruit, hard boiled eggs, cereal... It was all presented and cooked well. I really did enjoy it but won't be eating fish anytime again soon. Instant coffee and tea are available complimentary from early morning until after Dinner as is filtered water. We were also able to get ice on a couple occassions. Cocktails are available and during our stay typically two special drinks were offered at F$35 to F$40. Soda was also available for F$5.50 which I thought pretty reasonable. We took three tours - snorkeling at Honeymoon Beach, Blue Lagoon and Sawa-i-Lau Caves. These tours were actually some of the best we have ever taken. If I was just reviewing the tours, a 5 would not be high enough. Overall, the resort was super boring, dirty and buggy.

Wonderful stay
Super friendly and warm staff in a beautiful location with terrific snorkeling. This was one of my top two locations out of the five I stayed at while in Fiji. The lodge offers lots of activities and delicious food (as long as you like fish). Would be happy to return here.

Everything was beyond perfect! I would suggest Oarsman’s Bay Lodge to anyone who is traveling to Fiji! Ms Oni Ratulele and the staff made you feel like part of their family, so warm and kind. If there was any changes to be made I would suggest mixing up the lunch and dinner menu. After a few days something else besides fish please. We will be back to stay real soon!

Our stay was magical! The bure was steps away from a beautiful beach with warm, clear water. The staff was beyond wonderful and made this short and sweet experience a memorable one. The food was delicious! If you have a short time in Fiji, definitely go to Oarsmans Bay Lodge! We couldn't be happier with our decision.

Loved the beautiful location, the friendly and helpful staff, the wonderful locally-sourced food and the authenticity of the place to Fijian traditions. This is not a 5 star minibar-in-the-room resort but it’s all the better for that. It’s the kind of place where guests from all over the world sit together with a beer to chat and watch the sun set. The bures are clean and comfortable without being luxurious. The resort felt safe and fun for me and my son. I hope to return soon.

"Vinaka" The Oarsman's
We wish we could have stayed longer. After a long boat trip to the Island, we were met by The Oarsman’s team on the beach. The cool refreshing coconut drinks that they served us were delicious. The team was so attentive to any requests we had during our stay. They really went over and above to make our stay there memorable. A special thanks to Dean who took us on a "March/Run" up the mountain behind the lodge. :-) (lol) my legs hurt for days!!! The view from the top over Nacula Island was spectacular and the hike was so informative. I would definitely recommend this. I would also like to specifically thank Oni and the team. Thank you for taking the time to share some stories about the customs and tradition of Fiji and of your home Oni. The snorkeling trips around nearby bays are brilliant especially "Blue Lagoon". The resort is owned by the local village so it's nice to see your money being used for the benefit of the local community. And finally, the farewell song. Such a beautiful send off. Thank you! Waterfront villa, wake in the morning to the sound of the tide coming in. wake in the night to see the moon on the water. Lots of planting around all villa's, making it a pleasure to wander around in the sand and 'grass'. Amazing staff , nice and quiet surrounds. Guests seem to be people who appreciate the peace and quiet of this setting. The beach is the best in the area for swimming and snorkeling.

Beach View, Welcoming staff, Good Food, Fiji Water
Beautiful and relaxing place to stay, private villas by the beach, great hospitality, the villas were so clean and comfortable. The water on tap is spring water which is the same as having Fiji Water on tap which is what sets this resort apart from other resorts in Yasawa. every room has electricity and outdoor showers in the villas. There were daily activities for us to partake in and the option to include all meals for $FJD98 which is great when you’re budgeting. I felt relaxed as soon as I got off the boat. The backpackers accommodation was private and had the view of the beach
