So, check-in was ok. Was asked for a name, no ID check (I'm not sure what I think of that) and no deposit needed/requested (which I'm happy about) and the lady at the desk went through all of the general stuff you'd expect them to.
So, the room. It is modern looking, clean and better than the prior hotel we stayed in when we went to London last year.
However, there are issues with this one, both safety and experience issues just like the other one but here they are:
- Damp (water) patches around main ceiling lights and in other areas of the ceiling.
- Hole in side of socket bracket.
- No handle on the initial dial used to turn on the shower.
- Dodgy wiring in the smaller rotational lights (in pics).
- Rusty mattress springs.
- Mattress is firm as a big rock, if I wanted that I could've just gone to the beach down the road and slept on a rock there.
- Curtains fitted to a drawstring operated pole, without drawstrings (there is even a sign to tell us to use the provided nonexistent ones)
- A broken (non lockable) window in the bathroom.
- A loose safety attachment on main room window.
- A dodgy/irritating sliding bathroom door which you have to get in the correct position to lock and sometimes doesn't open if the door is slightly out of the mechanism and there is a noticeable gap at the side of the door where you can watch your loved one (or room mates) take a number 1/2.
- Two single beds screwed together to form a double bed? Ok, but why? There we go, my review.
