Horrible stay at Travelodge London Central Tower
Wifi was down a lot, not great when you’re on a business trip. When I got my room at check-in, I couldn’t get into the room, and finally someone opened the door -apparently someone were already in my room, so I had to drag my luggage all the way down to the reception and get a new room. Receptionist seemed stressed out. One of them distinctly made a statement that I wouldn’t get charged for the first night but when checking my bill, I see that they charged me the full fee anyway. Also, the soap dispensers in the batbroom were out of soap, the sink clogged and there was mold at the bottom of shower. The windows faces a train track and it gets loud when the trains pass so you really can’t sleep with the window open. Will never stay at a Travelodge again.

Great location.... Staff was very friendly... Breakfast buffet was convenient and a good price. Amenities were the only minus.... no refrigerator... no microwave... limited clothes store area. It was excellent for the price1 I would stay there again!!!

Perfect area within walking to London Tower, London Bridge and the Thames as well as others. The breakfast was good with a variety of choices and all you can eat. The rooms are extremely small but clean and satisfying if your aim is to sightsee and have a clean safe space to return to. We will definitely keep it on our list to stay when we return to London

Friendly and welcoming staff. Buffet breakfast was great. Located next to a train was a bit noisy at night but closing the window provided good soundproofing. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel for one night during my stay in London. Love the location of this property very central too a lot of attractions. We had an issue with the air conditioner, and they moved us to another room which was very nice. Breakfast buffet very tasty and convenient. I would suggest for them to put at least water in the room since they don’t count with any minibar or mini fridge. Overall decent stay.

I don’t understand how this hotel got 4 plus stars. It was clean and the staff was VERY courteous but…. Internet has to be paid for BY THE DEVICE, and even then it was slow. The rooms were bare bones with nothing but a bed and built in reading lights and small cubby holes. There was no place to unpack your clothes and no AC, but a heater. The worst of it all was is there’s a train running ever 5-20 minutes RIGHT outside your window. I asked the staff to move us as we wouldn’t get any sleep and they gladly did even being almost fully booked (as I said the staff is great!) BUT even on the other side you had to deal with traffic noise and people coming out of the nearby pub late at night. This didn’t work with needing to keep the window open to stay cool. Wasn’t bad but I would go with a hotel with amenities and no noise.

My window was open when I first arrived and I didn't realise- check when you arrive to make sure you don't wake up at 5am with the sound of the train!

Perfect location for Tower of London
Great location for visiting the Tower of London. Lovely breakfast with both meat and vegetable sausages. We had to request a second towel each day, as only one came with the room but there was no charge. Our room was beside the train tracks on the same level and it was noisy, but we asked to switch and were given a quiet room at street level. Very close to a tube station, buses, and above ground train. Good value for the price and friendly staff.

Good price for central location
Excellent central location right near the Tower Bridge and Tower of London plus Tower Hill tube station and Docklands Light Rail (DLR). Basic room in a basic hotel. Comfortable bed, adequate bathroom. This Travelodge is in need of a facelift - new carpets and a spruce up pairwise. But for the price at this location, it's hard to beat. It IS beside a railway line but keep the window closed and you'll be fine. In summer it's hot. Make sure you get an electric fan - you'll need it. The breakfast was fabulous - fruit, cereal, pastries and yoghurt plus a full English. They do dinner too and there's a small bar; or The Minories pub is next door. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Super location and room was clean and comfortable. This was a "night in London before an early morning flight" hotel for me, and it was lovely to be able to walk around the area. I was a bit unhappy to find no soap in the shower, though, so it might be worth checking that before your shower if you plan to use their "tolietries" (as I had, since international flight security is such a pain).

Basic and simple hotel but with an amazing location. Five minute walk from the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and multiple tube stations. Plenty of pubs in the surrounding streets to eat. Would definitely recommend.

Strange smell in the room. Faint but present. Bed comfortable and breakfast was buffet standard.

Very no frills which I did not realize when I booked. Wifi not free, no phone in room for wake up calls, no room service. You certainly get what you pay for. Lesson learned. Good for those on a limited budget/students.

Remember the price
Coming down the hall, I was overwhelmed by the scent of grapefruit cleaner every time. When I walked into my room, my initial impression was not good. There's very little furniture--a bed, a plastic office chair small table already crowded with remote control, kettle, cups and fixings, a wall-mounted tv, and a few hangers. A fan but no aircon--pretty common in British hotels. No closet, no bedside tables, no drawers, no hair dryer, not even a luggage rack. Two painfully bright blue-white 'reading lights' shone from either side of the bed. For me, trying to read by them would cause an intense headache. When those lights are off and the others on, the room is a bit dim. It wasn't designed for women--there's a full-length mirror poorly lit, and the bathroom mirror's difficult to get close to for makeup, and no skirt hangers. My first floor room was almost exactly at eye-level to the top floor of the double-decker buses that went by directly outside. No business center in the hotel, either. But the bed was comfortable, the shower water hot, internet connection (extra 3 pounds daily) good, small but good breakfast available and included in some packages, staff very helpful and nice, location AMAZING, and my price, frankly, unbelievably good for a London hotel of this quality. It's right next to a nice pub, the DLR and the Tower Hill Underground, walking distance to Spitalfields Market, St. Pauls, Tower Bridge and much more.

Great locatiion
This hotel is located around the corner from Tower Hill Tube stop. It is no frills - though. Actually, it looks like a college dorm room. There isn't even a phone in the room. Thank goodness it was cool weather because the air conditioning is a small fan. The breakfast included was very good and plentiful. Staff was pleasant and accommodating.

Perfect for Tower Hill
This is the perfect hotel to stay at if you want to be close to the Tower of London. The Tower Hill tube stop is even closer. I wish I would have known you could only have wifi for 30 min every day and had to pay £3 per day otherwise. My reservation through Expedia have me the wrong address and said I would have continental breakfast and a twin bed. Neither of those exist at this hotel. All rooms have comfy queen beds and full breakfast is available for £8.25. All in all a good stay though.
