Hotel Taxi Scam
Stay was above average...... until checkout time. We asked the bell boy whether we should wait in front of the hotel for an airport taxi, but he said that he would call one for us. Just after leaving the hotel, the driver stated that the fare would be 1&1/2 times what it should be. After telling him that we weren't tourists, and we were not paying that much, he finally, at our insistence, turned on the taxi meter. He complained that he had to pay the bell boy for calling him, and that he wouldn't make any money. As it worked out, his quoted price was over the metered fare,but we paid it, and went to our flight. Scams like this, ruin the hard work, and service provided by the rest of the staff, ruining the overall experience. Sadly, we probably won't book here when we return in a couple of weeks. Perhaps this venue should consider a change of bell boy.
