Even with other guest there it was very quiet. High ceiling in our room. The restaurant was close, but owners had suffered a death in family. So not that bad. Other places to eat nearby.

The advertised restaurant and bar were closed 4 months ago, according to the proprietor. The room smelled of mold and mildew. The pool was full of algae and mosquitoes. The ice machine and vending were empty. After we left, they then called and said they would charge us $150.00, because we smoked in the room. We probably will not be using Expedia again!

Overall the accommodations were okay. The room was clean. There were no restaurants nearby. The exterior of the motel was in need of some fixing up. The AC needed some fixing as well.

Room was not as depicted as on line photos. Both beds sagged. No refrigerator. Office closed at 530 pm so no assistance. Ac- heater didn't work properly. Tv volume didn't work. Won't say there again.

Vintage hidden treasure in the NC Appalachians
Comfy, older hotel tucked away in the mountains. Big, clean room with a good working, albeit noisy AC unit. Friendly, family-owned hotel and restaurant - which I did not visit. Sorry about that! I'm certain it was good. Will definitely stay here again for my next visit to Stone Mountain Park.

Older motel but good.
Very pleasant 2-day stay. Interesting construction and pictorial history about the motel in the office. Rooms are not the normal 'motel' room A little dated but very clean and comfortable. Large, thick European style towels are great. I would recommend for a quiet stay.

Character and scenery.
This hotel is perfectly situated for a beautiful stay in the mountains. Close to Stone Mountain State Park. It’s an older property with character and run by a family who work hard to also run the restaurant onsite. If you want brand new glass and metal style hotel accommodation this is not the place for you. If you want a comfortable stay in a beautiful area, you’ll love it.

Mid Century original inexpensive
Totally original mid century. Super inexpensive, and you get what pay for. The low, older type bed was surprisingly comfortable and the through the wall AC/Heater kept me cool or toasty depending on need. But it takes some careful adjustment. If the furnishings or fixtures have been updated since 1964, it’s not evident. It’s clearly been used for a very long time and it’s a bit down at the heels. But I’ve paid far more for a night in a similar motel for new but only just as functional.
