Bad management, Expensive, Unsafe.
THIS SHOULD NOT BE A VIP Hotel. They did not upgrade our room even though rooms were available. They received our email 6 months before but did not acknowledge or respond. At check-in, they said they had a note and it had been actioned. In fact the room was the most basic, with a terrible view and no balcony or patio. When I questioned this, the receptionist said she would speak to a manager. We left to visit the town and when we returned, nothing had been done. The new receptionist said the manager needed an email from Expedia. This has never been the case at other hotels.
The room was of poor quality with no seating and various marks and scratches on walls and floor. The rug looked dirty and worn, similar to other parts of the hotel. The windows didn't open wide enough and the view was pretty poor.
Our welcome gift was sent on day 2.
The breakfast was ok for the price of the hotel. However, I was given ham on a vegetarian item and again at our boxed breakfast. There were minor gestures like paying for our taxi to the bus station but it was too little too late.
The location felt unsafe as it was down a dead end road. STAY ELSEWHERE FOR A LOT LESS
