The place was exactly what you'd expect staying in an old home like this. My only complaint was the bed. I don't know if it was the floors or the actual bed itself, but it leaned to one side like the supports underneath were broken. Luckily it was a solo trip for me, if i was sharing the bed it definitely would have been a problem.

We were greeted by John (the owner?). He's very personable and sincere. John noticed that I had mobility problems and, on his own initiative, moved my wife and me to a room that was more accessible than the one we had booked. John also gave us some good dining tips. A very nice person in every way.

A hotel with style and character. Original features and decorated with quality and tasteful furniture. Lovely deck and seating outside. As it’s an old refurbished building the rooms are attractive but fairly small. Breakfast is delivered to the room but there is no small table to sit at so a bit awkward to eat. Fine in good weather as you can take it to the deck.

I couldn’t figure out the A/C in my room but 3days we stayed were quite cool so that was not a problem, and I am sure if I had called for help someone would be able to assist me. Good location for visiting many cape towns. Historical building shows its age but is comfortable and quiet. I appreciated the morning breakfast every day for our adventures outside. AC worked good. More of a self sere hotel limited staff around but they are friendly, welcoming and busy working when I saw them. Wish these new owner much luck with the updates for years to come. I can tell they want to make it a lasting property.

Stay was pleasant as always. Rooms could be cleaner. Coffee pot was still full upon arrival, only one wine glass and no back up toilet paper. We tried to get more but couldn’t find any staff. We did find some in a staff closet we had to take a peak into.
