Too basic
This is definitely a hostel and not a hotel! The location is great, centrally located inside the walled city. The rooms are very basic, concrete beds, a tv and no other furniture. The bed is a bit hard and linens not clean. The entire hostel seems quite worn down and in need of refurbishment. Our room was not very clean either, the bathroom walls filled with spots and even some litter from previous guests on the bathroom shelves. There is also signs of mold. Even the bedsheets had some stains on them. They advertise a pool, but I did not feel comfortable using it, it did not seem very clean and is very small. If you are a young backpacker looking for a centrally located, decent priced hostel this is an ok option. I would not stay here again, but in my younger partying days I'm sure I wouldn't mind staying here.

Une auberge type auberge de jeunesse, avec des chambres doubles et des dortoirs. Pas le grand luxe mais tout à fait correct par rapport à nos attentes et au budget économique. Service très agréable, souriant et attentionné. Un plus pour la petite piscine très apprécié.

O staff é realmente mto amigável, sempre dispostos a ajudar. O café da manhã é extremamente limitado (café ou chá, duas fatias pequenas de melancia, duas torradas e ovos mexidos e um copo de suco). O chuveiro é de água fria e com temporizador. É econômico e bem localizado, mas não sei se voltaria a me hospedar...

I had to book a same night additional night in Cartagena and the staff at this hostel was super helpful and friendly. The hostel is great, they have nice and clean private room with double beds, tv, free wifi and a large private bathroom. Everything you ever want in Cartagena is close by.

Located within the Walled City, this beautiful hostel in Cartagena is a stone throw away from all Cartagena's main attraction. Only 30 minutes cab drive to the airport and 10 min walking distance from the docks where you can take a boat to the Rosario's island. A plethora of bars and restaurant with some of the best seafood and Caribbean dishes you'll find in Colombia. The property is clean, safe and the guys working at the receptions are going the extra miles to help you settling down. There is a pool, a rooftop a place to safely store your luggage. They have both dorms and private rooms which are lange and have air-con, private bathroom and TV. Strongly recommended!

ok, nothing spectacular. Fair for the price I guess. The location is good, that was the only bright-side. The reception guy ordered a taxi for me on my last day and it was pretty much a scamm. Payed 50 thousand colombian pesos for a 10 mins ride that costed me 15 when I myself got a cab from the airport to the hostel. One of the days they ran out of towels so I had to purchase one near.

El hotel Escallon me ha hecho cobros extras, después que yo salí de Cartagena y ya no estoy mas en ese lugar. He llamado al hotel y dejado mensajes, pero no me contestan. Me siento terrible por esta situación. Quiero una respuesta.

Au niveau de la réservation, beaucoup de décalage entre ce que m'annonçait hotels.com et le service qu'on me proposait: il a fallu se battre pour avoir le petit-déjeuner comme prévu, pour avoir des serviettes et pour faire le règlement sur place (et pas à l'avance, comme me l'avait demandé le réceptionniste par mail et au téléphone )
