This is a great remote place to get away from it all in Spain! Also, a great place to escape the summer heat of Southern Spain, as the hotel is at about 1,400 meters (about 4,000 feet) elevation. The facilities may not be ultra-modern, like you'd find at a 4 or 5 star hotel in a big city, but that just adds to the charm. Our room was perfectly clean and the owner was very pleasant to work with. There is a restaurant , plenty of room for parking (a real plus, as compared to the congestion you find in about all villages and cities we visited on our trip) and a seasonal pool (closed when we visited in early June). The owner spoke very little English, which was fine for us, but good to keep in mind. My only criticism is that the directions to get to the place are pretty nonexistent, at least on Hotels.com. They list how far the place is from various points of reference, but no directions. Directions really are needed to find this place! It is located about 3.5 kilometers from the nearest village, which I think was called Guejar, on a paved road. The 16 in the address is not an address number but part of the name of the road, which is derived from a fountain that has 16 spigots coming from it, located shortly after the turnoff on the road on your left. Our GPS got us close to the right village, but that was about it. I seriously recommend getting good directions before staying at this gem of a hotel. I just wish we had more time to explore the area.
