Title: Appalling Experience – Unsafe, Unhygienic & Completely Misleading
My stay at Kaktus Somabay was a disaster from the moment I checked in on November 27, 2025. The first room was covered in thick dust, to the extent that my new iPad cover became damaged within minutes. When I reported it, management responded with denial and disrespect, insisting it “did not happen here.” Their attitude alone was unacceptable.
After being moved three times, every room had the same unhygienic dust problem. I developed allergic reactions, including itchy eyes and a sore throat. One of the rooms had a cracked mirror, which staff openly admitted they were already aware of—a major safety hazard that they simply ignored. Two bathroom doors didn’t even close.
My entire first day was wasted dealing with room changes and staff negligence. Then the power cut three times, including once while I was showering, leaving me in total darkness and nearly causing an accident. Add to that a persistent smell of gas and paint, which made staying in the room unbearable.
To make matters worse, the hotel is blatantly misrepresented online. The so-called “superior suite” was merely two connected rooms, the beach required a 10-minute drive, and the advertised pools and amenities were nothing like the photos—tiny, unusable, nonexistent in some cases.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The property is unsafe, unclean, and falsely advertised.Strongly advise travellers to avoid this hotel
