A good surprise!
We loved this space, it is definitely more camp vibes than a hotel, which kind of surprised us but as long as you dont mind that, it is a lovely place to stay. I would definitely stay here again! Their hot water is quick and lasts a long time so no worries about that if thats you least favorite part of camping like me :) it was just far enough from town and an easy, quick walk to the lake!

Was ok
I ended up leaving a day early. I came to rest and they were setting up for Oktoberfest so the noise during the day was a lot. They were dropping tent poles and yelling. Room was small, the refrigerator was small and there was no TV. I would have stayed had it not been for all the noise.

It was great hotel. Enjoyed our stay. Especially having the lake so close. Relaxing sitting by the lake. We will return. First time staying at Camp Richardson.

Felt like camping
Very minimal room. No TV and no air conditioner. Couldn’t open bathroom door all the way because of toilet position. Pillows were very flat, had to go buy our own for the two night stay. Check in was very easy, grounds were super clean and it smelled very clean inside. We did enjoy the store, coffee and ice cream that was right there.

Great motel unit room next to beach!
The beds were very comfortable. We stayed in motel unit, small but OK for us since we weren't in there a lot. Had a small fridge. Super close to beach and restaurant, 5 min walk to a coffee shop/general store. Very affordable for such a great location. Room was a bit stuffy at night because it was August; we had window open and heard delivery trucks early in a.m. There was an adjoining room where we could both hear each other through the walls.

We stayed in the the single hotel room.It was extremely stuffy despite the provided fan. Would not recommend during hot summer days, just too hot to sleep. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Also road nose was ridiculous. Loved how close it is to the beach.

"Historic hotel" = no AC - stay on the first floor, not the second. The second floor gets lots of sun, and heat rises.

Nice property, the only downside for me was the lack of air conditioning. The rest was very good.

6/10 Good

The bad: 1. The room was not properly clean. The beds had hair, which tells me the sheets were not replaced! 2. The shower supplies were empty. I asked the front lobby for refills and they never came to refill them. 3. I asked for extra towels. Didn't happen either. 4. House keeping never came by. The good: 1. Check-in was easy. 2. It was close to the water. 3. Many hiking trails around.

It is a unique find and has a nice mountain cabin feel. There is no air conditioning except for a ceiling fan and open windows. Which is fine except it is on the road to Emerald Bay, which is busy until dark. So sleep in lightweight clothes in the summer. It was the most cost effective lodging for when i needed to stay, so am not complaining.

The hotel is literally next to the main road and vehicles travel through 24/7. There is also no AC, it's better to sleep outside than in that hot hotel!

Cute little historic cabin-like hotel rooms walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Super friendly and helpful staff. The blonde front desk guy that works overnight was super nice and amazing. Five stars just for him 😁
