Good stay for a family with a toddler.
The Hilton Vacation Club was a good spot for our family trip with a 3 yr old. As others have said, it's a little dated looking (they have a DVD player where you can rent DVDs, but our room was very spacious and clean. There wasn't a sit down restaurant, just a grill that's open during the day time, not sure about night time. But there is free self-parking and the pool was great for our kiddo. They also offered free movies in a large theater during stormy days (though we didn't utilize this, but thought it was a nice touch).

Poor customer service when there is an issue
Booked a trip for our wedding anniversary and had plumbing issues in the room. Customer service was terrible as to how they handled it. We had an issue with an intermittent leaky toilet that kept making noise every 10-20 Minutes and we reported to the front desk after one night of disturbed sleep and they didn’t fix it after we reported it and after a whole day they didn’t fix it as issue was still there when we got back at 10pm at night and they couldn’t even offer us another room or do anything for us. Then I followed up with the manager the same evening after I checked out and flew back home and she basically said since the next guest didn’t report the issue there’s nothing she could do. Are you kidding me - does she think I was just making this up!!? Given I’m a loyal Hilton honors gold member I was very disappointed with how they handled the situation including the manager on site. Had to follow up with them multiple times to even get a response!! Terrible that they treat their loyal customers like that and definitely wouldn’t stay there if you expect good customer service

Timeshare pitches and room changes
Booked a king bed suite and they wouldn't let us check until well after 6pm as they "prepared the suite" and kept calling to get us to switch to a full bed suite instead. Finally they called hours later and said they don't have any king suites available and said we had to take a full. They offered to move us to a king for our last night out of 6, it was comically rude. They also rigorously tried to sell timeshares, literally every employee tried to get us to join a timeshare pitch. Also there were cockroaches in the rooms, and they refused to take our dirty towels and made us come to the lobby to pick up fresh ones. The location was nice and I really wanted to like this place but Hilton really dropped the ball here.

My wife and I (both 40 y.o.) spent a week here during our first trip to Hawaii and had a wonderful time. Being a good hour from the airport could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your personal perspective. I thought it was situated in a nice area with a great beach, lots of waves. There are many good places to eat nearby and the poolside kitchen was also convenient and tasty. The suites are big and feel reasonably up to date. Overall great experience.

Visited Maui for the first time with my family. The kids loved the pool at all hours of the day and evening. The pool area bar was awesome and the on site food market place had great food when we didn’t want to leave the resort after a busy day. All staff were very accommodating and helpful. Very spacious room, everything was clean, beach was lovely, pools and hot-tubs were large and clean, everyone was friendly. Loses a star due to lack of food options and dates decor, but Hilton is renovating now. All in all a great experience especially for the price.

Our suite was huge and had everything we needed! Toaster, fridge, microwave, coffee, dishes. Loved sitting on the balcony every morning and evening! Took the grandkids to make a candy lei and played ping pong with them. The pools were wonderful and it was right on the beach!!! We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is well kept and very clean. However considering the amount of money that they charge the hotel is outdated. The room are very spacious but they need to replace new appliances, new bathroom doors. Everything seems like in late 1990’s to early 2000’s. Staff are very helpful and approachable. I cannot believe this is a Hilton property. I expected different standards. The property is very old and it doesn't look like it has been well maintained. The food choices were very limited and we had to go out to find food. It is really an ugly property that doesn't match the price we paid. The staff was very friendly.
