Luxotel is not a 4-star hotel – no idea how this is possible. Property is a complete dump, w/ the lone exception being the lobby restaurant area. There are apartment residences attached to the hotel entry w/ laundry hanging to dry outside windows and ratty, decaying / molded yellow awnings across the entire façade of the hotel facing the water. Rooms are on par w/ a dungy small college dorm room, w/ concrete floor / barely a brown carpet covering it. Room smelled of cigarette smoke, bathroom had NO ELECTICAL OUTLET (!), silverfish in the tub and the balcony had plastic lawn chairs and the ceiling even had a hole in it w/ plaster hanging down. If you don’t want to pay $300 / night for accommodations similar to a Day’s Inn motel in Nebraska, then AVOID this place. Despite a decent location to the beach, you have train tracks and a busy road in between, with heavy traffic. Although the staff was very nice and friendly this was a truly a very poor place to stay.
