Great Location, staff was very accommodating. My only problem with this hotel room was the actual size. Very, very small for a double bed room.

Horrific!
The photos on the Hotels.com site are exceedingly misleading. THis place was like a third-world dormitory. I had booked a two-night stay but checked out after one night and forfeited the second day's fee because this place was HORRENDOUS! Took me 20 minutes to check in, they are extremely disorganized, the elevator got stuck, the room had exposed plaster, tape holding up light switch plates and it was dirty all around. I could hardly sleep, I felt like I was in a prison cell, honestly. I was severly misled and I'm writing this long review (which I rarely do) to spare others from the horrors of this ridiculous building which shouldn't even be called a "hotel." I cannot imagine anyone not being disappointed when they get to this place. Stay away, it sucks!

Lobby reek of pot. Elevator made funny sounds and the light in the room kept going on and off all night. This is an awful hotel.

More uncomfortable than comfortable
I had a last-minute work trip and my company has new limits for what we can spend per month on travel, so I chose the Hudson River Hotel based on the photos on the website and affordable price. My Uber driver couldn't even find the hotel (there was scaffolding outside of the building and the sign was hidden), the lobby was small, messy, and cluttered, and the elevator was broken so I had to take a sketchy stairwell filled with laundry bags. The man who checked me in was friendly and helpful - which was the only redeeming part of my stay. The walls in the room were dirty and had scuff marks all over them, the bathtub had stains in it, the wallpaper was coming off, the carpet was worn and coming up in spots, and when I went to plug in my phone to charge it the electrical outlet was loose and felt dangerous. After a long day of travel and being out and about in NYC, I looked forward to a shower - but somehow felt more icky afterward. The room was not at all soundproof and there was a lot of noise in the hallway. I slept with the light and the TV on to distract myself. Overall, I felt more uncomfortable than

You Get What You Pay For...
Room was clean, but in a terrible state of disrepair (curtain rods askew, towel racks hanging off the wall, toilet paper dispenser loose, cracks on walls and around windows, etc). We were delayed checking in because the worker at the front desk "went out" for a lengthy period of time. The walls are very thin and noise from the other rooms was an issue...the alarm of guest in the next room went off in the middle of the night and he did not turn it off...my wife had to call the desk to get him to turn it off.
