Note that this review is based on a father and 5yr old son travelling in the Galapagos Islands. Booking for San Cristobal was rather last minute and when the search results highlighted this property for budget, location, and cleanliness / comfort, I selected it. I knew the moment we walked in we had made the right decision. The family run hotel was really good. As we were out all day, every day, when we come back we want a comfortable, clean bed, some aircon, and a hot shower. There was one double bed for us and we both slept well. The shower was good but don't look at appearances, it works. The family were so kind and friendly towards us that they merit an additional mention. We were welcomed and made to feel very much at home. It's not far from the main street and ferry, there are laundries, some shops, and a wonderful bakery close to the place.

8/10 Very Good

Nice clean, quiet, simple room. We were a family of 4 and got a suite. Open and airy. They do limit your water usage so be aware of that. Only 2 of us got a shower that night.

Overall good experience, quiet and clean. The room was small, only a bed sheet on the bed, no blankets and no breakfast included or in option.

FANTASTIC Hostel. Marco and his family/staff were friendly and professional, zero negative issues, ALL good. Very quiet for 3 nights, just a 5 min walk from the pier and all else. Quick check-in. Room was clean & comfortable, great air conditioning and Wi-Fi. They even stored my bag my last morning after check-out so I could hike until my afternoon boat departure. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The best budget choice
The Galapagos Islands are expensive but this was an excellent budget choice. We got two separate bedrooms, a lounge and kitchen all to ourselves. Go to the local market to buy cheap veggies and fruit and you'll be able to prepare relatively cheap meals. Free drinking was really appreciated. Lovely, attentive host. You can see absolutely loads of free wildlife viewing on the beaches/broadwalk close to the hostal.

Clean and good stay. Bare minimum hostal. Not much space to hang out outside of the room but if you’re just looking for a place to sleep it’s great.

We spent 10 days with the family. The owner and his son were always available for assistance. They were helpful and gave good advise. The kitchen facilities were a plus with the kids, despite some of them would need a little upgrade. Great stay overall!

The hostal is run by the kindest and sweetest family. The rooms actually have AC and warm water. They do not have any TVs in the room but that didn’t bother us since we were always out during the day anyway. I really enjoyed my stay here. My room was clean and the showers actually had warm water. Keep in mind that water and wifi are limited on the island so please remember to conserve water. We had wifi and internet issues everywhere we went. Daniel and his family were super helpful. My fiancé messed up his ankle and Daniel offered to go with us to the hospital because we don’t speak Spanish well and help us look around for crutches because they’re hard to find on the island. I highly recommend this hostal and would love to come visit again.
