When I first checked in, the person at the counter kept repeating "sir, you have to understand, no guests are permitted." 4 times she said that. As if to ensure I was not going to have hire any prostitutes or go pick random women up for a fling. If this was a private b&b, I would expect those kinds of rules but a Howard Johnson?
I found her insistence to be quite insulting and it isn't anyone's business why I'm here I in town. I'm here for a medical procedure the next day but, again, that's no one's business but my own. The room was stifling hot when I first got in here. The remote for the TV doesn't work. It is clean and it got cool once the AC had been on for an hour or so.
