Arrived one hour early & wasn’t allowed to check in early after a 14hour drive. Check-in guy was rude. Called front desk bc we were given a stained floor carpet & a ripped robe & she never ever sent anyone up. Manager never called us back. Poor service never returning here. Housekeeping shared that our room was ready so we were treated so poorly. First time visiting NYC & the pictures are deceitful the room is a less than 500 sq ft room with a queen bed that felt like a full size & the windows were filthy. Huge, epic failure choosing this hotel. So much for celebrating my Hubby’s birthday in class, cleanliness & style.

I loved the location, the friendliness of the staff, the restaurants within the hotel. I was surprised that there was not a dresser in the room. That was the only thing from rating it a 10. However I will definitely book there again. It was my second time staying there.

Room request not met
We got comcerned on our last day there. We came back to the room after being out all day. The room temp was set to 45 and air in December. It was freezing. There was a random brush and deodorant that was not in the room for 2 days (and not ours) laying on a table. It really creeped us out. Room needs an update, wrinkling wallpaper and stained tub. My biggest concern was we asked for adjoining rooms, I emailed to stress the need, we got there at 5pm (2 hours after checkin started) and were told they gave all the adjoining rooms away. Sorry but if someone comes in with that address, and you have had your reservation for 5 months, that's not fair. This is our second stay and the second time we did not get the requested room.

When we checked in the desk attendant was incredibly sweet and kind. She made us feel like she was doing something special for us- even talking to the manager, giving another attendant some money from the drawer to “set up our room special for us” and talking and carrying on for almost 20 minutes. I’m not sure what I was expecting…but it wasn’t a room that was about 4 feet wider than the bed, a set of stairs (which I tripped over the first night) to the locked balcony (that you needed a key for), and a completely blocked view because of the balcony. Our bathroom door never stayed slid closed (which caused some embarrassment). We had waters in our room the first night, but that was it (even though the first ones were gone). There was an umbrella provided. There was breakfast included in our stay, but we were made to feel cheap for using it at both sit down locations (where I had to pay an extra charge instead of just using the free grab and go). Our room key didn’t work the second night and we had a very long wait since there was only one desk attendant on at that time. The cosmetics of the hotel appear to under construction -though we didn’t see or hear any construction activity. The location is ideal, but I don’t think I’d go back. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and I still don’t understand what the whole getting our room set up for us situation was…it felt a little like we were getting laughed at since there was absolutely nothing great about our room.

Great Location! Terrible Room!
Great location. 10 steps from Times Square. Loved having breakfast everyday at Bond 45. Service was slow and sometimes non existent but food was good! Loved Friedman’s as well. The room was disappointing for the $$ I paid. It was very expensive. Tried to get moved to another room but they had no more with double beds. The view was non existent and construction or something, could not even see the street. Dark & dreary. Don’t stay on 2nd floor. It showed its age. Wallpaper was peeling. Air conditioner on the wall looked dirty. Very unhappy with room, everything else was fine.
