Good enough for morning hike, don’t expect luxury
Hotels was not good at communicating via messages, therefore we didn’t know we for sure had a room until we drove hours to get there. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The staff told us to be careful for tarantulas and snakes (which is normal being in a forest), but the room door was so warped on the bottom right that any bugs, mosquitoes, tarantulas, or spiders would have come in. Bathroom has cracked In the cement, with the area next to window missing a large chunk of concrete. Shower head was packed around lime and calcification.

Beautiful place , do not set your expectations too high, no TV, limited electricity, they run the place on a generator and turn off power twice a day. Staff super nice clean make sure you ask for a room w a/c thank me later, it’s only 20 bucks more dollars. Lobby and pool area only place you get WiFi. Bring a portable speaker for pool area. Easy walking to the Ruins which is why you come here. Would I stay here again? YES

The hotel was a great base to explore the Tikal ruins from, being only about a 10 minute walk from the temple ruins. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was good enough, but the WiFi signal in my room was weak, and like all the hotels in the park, electricity gets cut at 9. If you’re going earlier in the year, that’s probably fine—but the days that I was there, the region was experiencing record heat in the 40s/100s, and so sleeping comfortably was almost impossible without even a fan to circulate the air. Not having electricity at night does mean that the sky really does light up with the stars and you really do hear the sounds of the forest that you are surrounded by. I don’t see myself going back to Tikal anytime soon, but if I were, I would think twice about staying in the park again.

Oasis in jungle.
Lovely stay here and would recommend. But it would help if hotel put prices up by 10% to negate the stealth tip tax at the end which was added after signing off individual meal and drink bills. Would rather sort my own tips out. Picky but irritating.

We had a bungalow with garden view. The room is spacious, the bathroom not. Everything could use a little updating. There is a mosquito net over the bed. On the top of the walls and windows are screens. This is very important, because there is no a/c. There are no electrical connections to the park hotels. Everything runs on generators. These generators run only a few hours in the morning and a few in the evening. Then it’s lights out. Not a problem for us since we were very tired at night. If you can’t charge something electronic extra they do it at the front desk. Buy water at the entrance of the park at the Super24. We got an 8 liter container and filled our water bottles when needed. Otherwise you have to buy too many little bottles at the hotel or from vendors. The restaurant is nice and has a good selection. The prices for the location are reasonable. They prepare everything at ordering. It takes time, but I assume they have limited refrigeration capacity to keep a lot at the ready. Staff was very friendly. It got very hot during the night and the fan stops running at one point. It was very nice to have clean and fresh sheets and towels every day. You are in the rain forest, which is a noisy place with howler monkeys and lots of birds. The pool is a life saver on a hot afternoon. Unfortunately it wasn’t very clear. We didn’t get sick, but it didn’t look appealing. The grounds are very pretty and well kept. Parking is free. Overall I would go back.

You’re super close to the Tikal archeological park which is great. You’re practically sleeping inside of it. The only downside is that the electricity cuts out every night so It can get a bit hot without the fan working, but other than that it’s clean and the staff are very nice and super helpful. I would go again.

We throughly enjoyed our experience in Tikal. Tikal Inn was just okay for us. I thought I had booked a bungalow not knowing they had rooms inside the kitchen/office building. I was of course disappointed in my assumption. The site advertises the Inn has limited electricity. What’s not advertised is the cabinas/bungalows have electricity 24 hours a day. Because our room was in the main building (again not advertised) we had the limited electricity. To add to this, the hours the electricity was on was when we were in the park. Our room was clean however the bathroom sink smelled really bad of sewer when the trickle of water was turned on. The shower had a trickle of cold water as well. We were looking forward to cooling down in the swimming pool but refused to get in it as the water was very milky. There is a tile name of Tikal Inn in the shallow end but you could barely read it through the milky water. We chose not to eat in the restaurant rather at the hotel next to the Inn. We absolutely loved Jessica at the front desk. A very pleasant young lady. We felt the advertising was very deceiving. Had we been 30 years younger maybe this would have been fine. We would stay again in the bungalows. Our friends were in one with their full electricity and ability to take a shower in the light. It was very cute.

Spent 4 nights here. Wonderful place - quiet, wildlife, close to ruins. Richard and Jessica in front office were extremely pleasant and helpful. Food and restaurant staff good. Local guide Nixon is very good. Only negative is the rooms could use a bit of an upgrade and it is my understand that is to happen soon.

Wonderful rainforest stay
Wonderful experience. Very friendly and helpful staff including reception, restaurant, the tourguide, and drivers who picked us up at the border. Maintenance of bathroom drainage could be better. The pool was wonderful but the water looked a bit dirty the first days - thereafter it was cleaned. We will definitely recommend the hotel!

Definitely worth staying here rather than in Flores. Being so close to the park is a huge plus. The staff is very nice and speak very good English (helpful if your Spanish isn’t that great). We booked sunrise, sunset, and archeological tours through the hotel and were paired with our guide Nixon who was great. We also toured yaxha at sunset which was further away but very beautiful. Tours were affordable and worthwhile. Licuados (smoothies) at the hotel and the pool onsite were great during the hot parts of the day. We stayed two nights but I wish we had stayed three or four as there is so much to see and we felt a bit rushed with our personal exploration. Being in the jungle, wifi can sometimes be spotty but it’s impressive to me that they have it at all. Enough power to charge your phone and necessities 24/7. With a fan in the room we stayed a comfortable temperature (got chilly at night). Be prepared to buy bottled water for 10q as the hotel will quickly run out of free filtered water if there are many guests. Not a huge deal but you should be prepared. You can pay with credit card at the hotel but you should bring some cash with you for outside of the hotel because there is no atm. We would visit Tikal again and stay with Hotel Tikal Inn.

Hotel Tikal Inn is steps from the entrance to Tikal. It has been around since the 60s and it is well designed and totally charming. They offer guided tours including sunrise and sunset tours, which I highly recommend. We arranged the sunrise tour with the property and it was totally worth it (bring a flashlight or headlamp). If you’re a wildlife lover, you definitely want to stay within the park and hear the jungle come alive in the am. Other highlights from our short stay: hot water shower; fan worked 24/7; mosquito nets (even though I didn’t see any bugs in the room, nice to have); plenty of parking; restaurant accommodated us even though we arrived near its closing; pool (which we didn’t have time to use) and very friendly staff. Breakfast was particularly good. I will absolutely come here again and stay for longer. Tikal is fabulous, but equally so is the wildlife that surrounds it and the best way to experience both is to stay within the park. Great adventure!
