We had heard mixed reviews of the Fred but we had an excellent experience there. The room was very nice - comfy bed, big shower, two balconies and amazing ocean views. The restaurant was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was great. Would definitely recommend to others.

Fred - Great Place To Stay
We loved staying at Fred. Took us a while to understand the slow paced culture of St Croix … a nice change from the fast paced craziness of our home in Washington DC. While there were a few hiccups during our stay - such as no towels; being ignored by staff at bar; etc - the Fred after we complained made things right. Thanks, Fred, for an incredible stay on St Croix. We will stay there again.

Don't stay at the Fred
The Fred is not Adults only, they allow day guest of any age. Our shower drain was stopped up. We used towels to stop the water from flooding the room. Even after 3 requests we did not get fresh towels. This is a beach front hotel. There is nowhere on site to wash the sand off before entering your room. Because of this there was sand on the floor in the room. On a four night stay, the room was cleaned only once. No place to shower before getting in the Pool or Hot Tub, they were both full of sand. They were repairing the deck outside our room. Work started before 7 am 3 of the 4 nights we were there. Service is the worst we have ever experienced at a hotel. At times, the music played at the bar was too loud to even have a conversation or hear the ocean. The gift shop had boxes stacked up in the room where you are supposed to be able to get coffee and water bottles making it hard to navigate. They ran out of coffee pods and water bottles two days into our stay. Prices for food at the hotel restaurant were much higher than other restaurants close by and not as good.

Our room Aunt B, was very nice and clean, the views were great, basically the whole property and sea!!! The food was excellent along with the staff, they were so accommodating and helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend staying, just know the music and entertainment is lively!! This is very small calm area, so if you’re looking to relax this is a great place to do so. There’s not much outside of the resort itself, however Delia made sure our stay was well worth it. She’s very hospitable.
