refurbished hotel x affordable price

This hotel is well above average in London. My wife and I got a spacious room. The hotel was refurbished recently, so you get a pretty good hotel for a reasonable price. In London is very difficult to find a brand new hotel. I strongly recommend. Staff was helpful and resourceful.

Comfortable, Clean and Convenient (Family)

The Executive room with 4 twin beds was superb. It is so hard to find a single room for a family of 4 that is affordable.The Hotel is energetic, multinational and very friendly. The Hotel is so new that I have had few 'fresh' hotel experiences like that. Close to Subways, major landmarks and transportation. Because it is the financial district, very few restaurants are in the area. Mostly cafes and sandwich shops. The room was perfect for our family of 4.

Just Fine

The location for the meeting was perfect, which is why we were repeat customers. The rate was much higher the second time around and compared with other hotels in the same price category, the Sleep Inn City of London Hotel was not truly up to par. All in all not bad, but "nothing to write home about."

Gute Hotel mit großen Zimmern

Waren vier Tage in diesem Hotel. Zimmer war für Londoner Verhältnisse sehr groß. Bad gut. Frühstück (kostet ca. 10 Pfund extra) allerdings ein Desaster: Raum im Untergeschoss und zu klein, dadurch viel Durcheinander. Man kann aber gut außerhalb frühstücken. Vor dem Hotel wird gerade (10. August 2007) eine große Baustelle aufgemacht, könnte Lärm verursachen. Lage ziemlich gut: Fußmarsch zum Tower (U-Bahn) bzw. Tower-Bridge ca. 5-10 Minuten.

Zeer goed hotel

Voor londense begrippen een lux hotel voor de prijs die je betaalt (wij hadden wel een bepaalde kortingsdeal). Ruime kamer, zeker voor wat we gewend waren in Londen, luxe douche. Alles nog gloednieuw, (tapijt ruikt zelfs nieuw). We hadden een kamer naast een spoorlijn, maar die hoor je nauwelijks door goeie dubbele beglazing. Zowiezo erg rustig hotel. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Kortom prima bevallen!

The hotel was in a pretty good location just minutes from an underground station (Tower Hill). It appeared to be recently refurbished...everything was new and extremely clean. The air conditioner also worked very well.

Perfect Stay

Pros: -Gorgeous fit and finish of interior -Excellent use of roughly 216 square feet -*Immaculate* room, excellent housekeeping -Only about 5 min walk to Tower Hill Tube station (good for Jack the Ripper walks) -2 min walk to bus route 15 stop -safe neighborhood -within 5 min walk of Tower Hill bridge -Brand new (Mar07) -Reasonable coffee/food bar in the lobby -Walker's biscuits every day in the room -Coffee and tea selection perfectly adequate with real milk (and they actually give you enough, about 8 little plastic containers per day to use) -Shower is awesome, adjustable and powerful -Doors are made of real wood, not plastic junk or steel -LCD TV in room easy to use -Pleasant fron desk folks -Only a 1 pound charge for using calling cards to US. -internet speedy *enough*, even in our distant room - 1.6mps down and 400kps up. -lobby is quite comfy and modern Cons: -The room my wife and I stayed in was exactly 12ft x 16ft. But, we never felt clautrophobic, the materials they used to build the place are very high quality and the shower is incredible. -We could not get incoming messages. They had no voice mail system set up when we stayed there (Early August 07). Messages were hand-written and delievered via housekeeping. -interenet, but you get hit for 5 pounds an hour, and have to go to the front desk to get a voucher. Not the most convenient setup.

Not a bargain, sub-standard

Stayed 2 weeks for business. There are no drawers in which to put your clothes; they go into cubby holes. Sheets don't fit the bed and constantly pull out. Had to request repeatedly that room amenities be re-stocked and/or refilled. Bring your own bath products; only soap is provided "all purpose soap" (shampoo, hand soap all in one) Sketchy part of town, a filthy back alley street was right outside my window, had to leave drapes drawn at all times. The staff were helpful and polite, hotel is clean. But a business traveler needs a little more.

Great Value

Stayed at the Sleep Inn for a week in June. No complaints, excellent hotel for the money. Very clean, staff was very pleasant and helpful. Location wasn't the greatest except for being neer Tower London, but it was close to the tube and bus stations. Would definitely stay there again

Excellent Hotel For Excellent Price

This hotel is brand new (only been open since march 2007) and is both very clean and comfortable. Rooms were quite spacious considering typical London rooms. Although the hotel was quite nice, the service from the hotel staff was not great. Staff were not very knowledgable about transportation, laundry, restaurants or shops around the city. However, all you need is an "underground subway" map along with a map of the city to get around town. This hotel is located in the "The City" district of London which is the business and financial district so it gets quiet on evenings and weekends. However, the subway station is only a 5 min walk away and once you are on the subway every part of London is readily accessible. The hotel is located very close to tourist attractions such as The Tower Of London and Tower Bridge.

Excellent Value

Hotel is very modern (opened March 2007). Room was spacious (for London) with Queen bed, desk and large bathroom with stand up shower. High speed Internet access was available for 17 Pounds for 4 days but the Choice Hotels server was down for 1 day. Air conditioned room with personal settings. Quiet neighbourhood especially on weekend. 3 block walk to Tower Hill underground station. Buffet breakfast was a little pricy at 10 Pounds but food was good. Many other guests had breakfast included with their room. Several good pubs within a block or two where food is good quality and prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travellers.

Great Price, great location, new hotel, very clean

If you are in town on business with Lloyd's this is the place to stay. It was lamost half the price of similar hotels in the area. It was about 5-7 blocks from where I needed to go and about two blocks from the Tower station. They have a nice restaurant in basement with reasonable prices. Hotel is brand new and very clean. The only problem I had was that the front desk staff were a bit disorganized; I had to wait an hour to check in because I booked a non-smoking room and they mistakenly had me listed as a smoker. Please note, they have no parking and the street is a red zone, which makes it hard to drop off your bags if you arrive by car.

Good Value; Not a Tourist Hotel

I stayed here for 5 nights recently on a business trip to London, the hotel was 10 minutes walk from my base near Liverpool Street station. It's not a tourist hotel - it's too far from the West End for that - but it's perfect if you're a business traveller and you're not bothered about being close to the "action". I didn't use the restaurant so I can't comment on that, but the lobby bar was fine, and open until 1:00pm. There's a very slight feeling of being the "wrong side of the tracks" with the location of the hotel, but the whole area is improving and it's nothing to worry about. The only criticism I had is that my lower-ground-floor level room didn't get any reception for my cellphone - I had to go upstairs to the lobby to make calls. Most London hotels now charge outrageous rates for internet access; this one charged a more reasonable GBP17.00 for my entire stay. I'd certainly go back if I was working close to the City again.

Really enjoyed the hotel - it's about a 45 minute walk from West End/Oxford Street area..but you can walk long the Thames and get pretty much anywhere in the city! Right next to the London Bridge and Tower of London! And the staff was super friendly! Great Beds! Great Rooms!

Tpo Hotel

Das Hotel bietet sehr grosse Zimmer, vor allem das Bad mit Dusche ist sehr konfortabel. Die Lage ist sehr günstig, weil man zu Fuss in 2-3 Minuten an der Metrostation und an der Tower-Bridge ist. Der Stadtteil besteht vor allem aus Büros.

Neu und Nett

Das Hotel ist sauber, hat freundliches Personal und sämtliche Sonderwünsche (ruhiges Zimmer, Allergiebettzeug, Nichtraucherzimmer) wurden berücksichtigt. Die Rezeption ist durchgehend besetzt, manche sprechen sogar deutsch! Metro, Supermarkt, Cafes, Bars, Restaurants sind bequem per Fuß zu erreichen, genauso wie der Tower und die Themse.
