Holiday Inn Express Kitty Hawk Outer Banks by IHG
"The room was clean, staff was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is the usual, nothing to get excited about. Parking was nearby."
The Sanderling
"We loved the adult pool, but it could use additional umbrellas and umbrellas that adjust. Also there was service, but it was quite slow due to lack of staffing. The beach is okay and steep with a drop off in some areas. It's also short and the free umbrellas are small and don't provide much shade. We appreciated the coolers with electrolyte water at the entrance to the beach, but we did not spend any time on it other than to walk due to the heat, and these biting flies. The rooms are upgraded and nice, but our building had humidifiers running 24-7 and they were outside our room, and loud. The air in the room was wonderful though. Our room was attached to a LOUD family with a kid that had the loudest voice I've ever heard. Perhaps, keep adults on separate floors from children if possible. We like children, but that was nuts. The building inside is updated, outside is falling apart. Broken screen door on our room. Cobwebs and faded wood. The people providing service were lovely, but it was obvious they were overworked. One girl on an entire floor of rooms is not enough for good cleaning. They restocked and straightened up, but they weren't cleaning our bathroom daily. We did enjoy the restaurant. Very good food. The lunch bar by the pool was okay and the drinks weren't very good. My drink tasted like pure alcohol and I wasted it. Perhaps an actual mixologist if you charge these kinds of prices. Not 5 star."
Hilton Garden Inn Outer Banks/Kitty Hawk
"I absolutely loved this hotel, mostly because of the beautiful beach break right at the back door of the hotel! We spent the whole time boogie boarding and skimboarding! The hotel is nice, restaurant is good, gym was great and the indoor hot tub was very nice! I used the laundry room and it worked great! Would definitely stay here again!"
Barrier Island Station
"Amazing place to stay at! Would stay here again in Duck 10000 percent!!"
Ocean Pines Resort
"Unsure at first but turned out wonderful. I had read many of the reviews before arriving and wasn't sure what to expect. First, check in information was a bit confusing so I called the office a few days before and the office staff helped clear everything up. I learned that the office wouldn't be open on the day we arrived and the staff member provided me with all the information I needed to access our rental. With her information, check-in was simple and easy. Upon arriving at our rental, we were greeted with a view of the sound; which we loved and really enjoyed during our stay. I had read that some people stated that the rentals were dated and our rental had a few dated items but overall we saw many things had been updated. The rental was less hotel aesthetic and more family vacation hangout. Large table area for eating and playing games as well as a tv area. Also it was well situated with easy access to Duck or Corolla and the beach. Just be prepared to do stairs as the rental is on stilts and multi-leveled just like almost all rentals in the area."
Sea Scape Beach and Golf Villas
"Good for 4-5 people"
