Shap Wells Hotel

Shap Wells Hotel

8/10 Good
"Great location . Lovely receiption, dining and Bar area. The rooms were clean and a little small, but the bed was good. No water in the bedroom. Bathrooms a little dated in the room we stayed in, but all clean. The food ordering with certainly different but and the chioce limited but all to a good standard. The service was quick for the amount of people eating at the same time. I would certaintly recommend this hotel."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Penrith

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly months to visit Penrith are January, February, and November, when hotel prices are generally lower. For an enriching experience that encompasses the area's key landmarks, cultural heritage, and natural beauty, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During your visit, you can explore the scenic lake, unwind at the spa, enjoy the picturesque countryside, and discover the intriguing ruins of the historic castle. The hilly landscapes, lush forests, and charming bars add to the cultural fabric of the region, making it a great value for money destination. Keep in mind that prices for accommodations might drop during these off-peak months, making it an even more affordable getaway.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals for hotels in Penrith, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Additionally, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special last-minute promotions, ensuring you don't miss any saving opportunities. The Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you'll be promptly notified if rooms become available or prices drop, helping you secure that perfect getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could potentially help you find a better deal on your stay in a hotel in Penrith. If you're in search of a distinctive experience, boutique hotels might provide a more personalised touch and, at times, better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we can suggest alternative dates that may offer more affordable options.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be pricier, but with Penrith's superb public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well-connected. For those eager to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
