Arrived evening for pre flight stay cos leaving early in morning Bar was closing at 10 and food at 8 After check in we had 15 mins to order food ,only bar menu available at that time Food was terrible, did tell man in charge as feed back , he did refund us but we refused to accept it as we did as to improve not get a free meal Won’t stay again

We had a lovely stay at the Sidcot Arms. Worth mentioning it’s essentially a Premier Inn - nothing wrong with that but if you’re looking for something with more character it might not be the best choice. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I was impressed visually with The Sidcot Arms on arrival, it’s a lovely looking building with plenty of parking. I initially did not like the check-in process because of the man (manager?) checking us in, he wasn’t very friendly or welcoming, had an air of arrogance and was condescending but he knew his stuff, was efficient, just not overly a ‘people person’. He was being quite patronising when I was trying to book times for the restaurant. During dinner however I warmed to him, I imagine running a pub/hotel can be quite a handful. There’s no lift, we went up and down a quaint spiral staircase; we only had overnight bags as we were only staying one night so wasn’t a big issue. Room is reminiscent of a generic hotel like Travelodge or Premier Inn but there is air conditioning which was much appreciated. Dinner was fab, we stayed from the 11-12th July, dining the Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The two ladies running the evening food service were super friendly and fun, and hats off to the chef, the food was delicious. I had the ‘Cowboy Burger’, hubby ‘liver & bacon’ (I think), oldest son lasagna’ and youngest son ‘Somerset chicken’, we were all happy and plates demolished. The breakfast ladies were not as friendly as the evening ones but no complaints just ann observation, they were efficient. The Sidcot Arms has some nice walks literally on their doorstep; there are flyers mapping out the routes; we didn’t have the time unfortunately but would love to return to do one.

My daughter and I have just had a very pleasant stay at the Sidcot arms. My daughter is a wheelchair user and it was a delight to stay somewhere that was really accessible. Often we have booked accessible accommodation only to discover that it really wasn't. The Sidcot arms had ramps, our room was in an accessible wing of the hotel and the bathroom offered plenty of space for manoeveur, and she could use the sink and toilet. There was also plenty of room for moving around in the bedroom area too.
