Ibis Styles Malang
"A bit outdated, heated pool, good breakfast, and wonderful personnel."
Hotel Aria Gajayana Malang
"We had a totally satisfactory stay here. The hotel is dated but they clean it well and the staff are very pleasant. The breakfast options were ample and in the local style. We found the bed comfortable and the room quiet considering the bustling central location. A good base foe exploring the area. It’s very close to the heritage area with many great cafes."
Aston Malang Hotel & Conference Center
"New hotel, clean, lovely, very friendly and helpful staff. Near major universities. Located next to a minimarket. About 15 min ride to train station. There is no loop in the lobby / drop-off area, which is a hassle for drivers, creates a bit of bottleneck as cars need to reverse out. Uses Google to connect with front desk which appears modern, but a bit impractical."
Hotel Tugu Malang
"Always love this hotel . Beautiful and unique. Nothing else like it. Staff are absolutely brilliant. My favorite hotel"

Snooze Hostel Malang
"An absolutely perfect stay! The staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful, they are genuinely a credit to the business. We (late 30’s couple) stayed in a private ensuite room - it was very clean and had everything you could need. Basic but perfect for our 2 nights. The hostel itself was beautiful. So clean and well manicured. There’s a fridge/cooker etc if needed. The communal areas were really well thought out and the whole place was pretty much silent the whole time we were there. It’s tucked away in a lovely quiet street, a world away from the more chaotic main roads of the city. The location was unbeatable for sightseeing around Malang, everything is walkable and most of the tourist sights are within just minutes of the hostel. The train station is just a few minutes walk or <£1 in a Grab. I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough, particularly for the price. The staff made our stay, thank you for the recommendations and for your warmth and hospitality!"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Malang
- Book for the cheapest times: For the most affordable visit to Malang, it is recommended to travel in January, February, or November when hotel prices may drop, offering an affordable and budget-friendly stay. With a minimum of at least 2 to 3 days, visitors can explore key attractions that focus on landmarks, history, and culture, including a local library, temples, and a theme park. These experiences provide great value for money, allowing travellers on a budget to enjoy the cultural richness and heritage of the region.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Malang, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Enable email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don’t miss potential savings. Additionally, utilise Smart Shopping , a comparison tool available in the app, to help you compare hotel prices and amenities. This way, you'll be promptly informed of any price drops or availability changes, making it easier to secure a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at a Malang hotel. For those seeking unique experiences, boutique hotels might offer a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If it appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative, more affordable dates to help you find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Opting for accommodation nearer to key attractions or city centres may offer convenience, but it often comes with higher costs. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and ease of access to the sites you intend to visit. Independent hotels situated further out can often provide a more authentic experience and are usually more likely to be budget-friendly.
