Nightlife in Vientiane

Nightlife Vientiane is rather laid back compared to many Southeast Asian capitals, but you’ll still find lots of expat-owned pubs and sports bars, often serving specialities from back home. Once a quiet little town, Vientiane now has modern, trendy and eclectic choices of places to enjoy after dinner.

Some well-known nightlife spots have clearly been popular with expats and locals for years, but there are plenty of up-and-coming places to keep things interesting. If you’re not a fan of bars, go for a stroll down the Mekong riverfront where you can find a busy night market selling souvenirs, clothes, and authentic Lao street food.
