I have some concerns regarding the airport transfer.
On Hotels.com, it was stated that the hotel offers such a service. However, arranging this transfer required persistent efforts. The hotel did not respond via Hotels.com or Instagram and had no website of its own.
Eventually, we managed to reach the hotel through an agency. The hotel then proposed a fixed price of €25 for the ride, which we accepted.
At the airport, we were picked up by a driver named Mohamed. He did not know how to defog the windshield and instead wiped it with his hand while driving. It was raining, the roads were flooded, yet he drove well above the speed limit. There were no seatbelts in the car.
Although the hotel had agreed on a fixed price of €25, upon arrival at the reception, the driver demanded additional payment. The reception staff refused to assist us in ensuring the correct amount was paid in dirhams, allowing the driver to trick us into paying more than agreed before leaving.
I have nothing against tipping, but a reckless driver like this should certainly not receive extra payment beyond the agreed amount.
When I raised this issue again at checkout – pointing out that the fixed price was not honoured – the man at reception simply rolled his eyes.
I expect a different attitude and a higher level of service from a hotel that claims to be five-star. Please ensure that agreed amounts are respected, and that only reputable drivers and taxi companies are used in the future.
