The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The property was very close to Lake Erie. It was only a few minutes to the nearest beach and there were many adorable shops, restaurants and wineries near by. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Quaint, budget-friendly stay

Needed a budget-friendly option while visiting Erie and this one caught my eye because of the positive reviews. It was a great value and nice, quiet, 3-night stay.

What a great little place! This is the second time we’ve been here, and it just keeps getting better. Needed a place to stay for a family event near by, and so happy we stayed here again. Wonderful owners, great location Will be back when we need to be in North East!

8/10 Very good

The room was clean and spacious and the shower was great. My only criticism is that there were 2 double beds in a space that could easily accommodate 2 queen beds.

Terrific Independent motel!

We stayed 3 nights in late July 2023. We had Suite A which is amazingly roomy, clean, and comfortable. Pretty good kitchen if you want to cook. Living area with sofa and recliner. 2 bedrooms and 1 and a half baths. Excellent value and owners are nice. Exemplery independent motel.

This isn't my first stay. I keep going back because of the excellent condition of the rooms and great management. I had a room with an upgraded shower this time. It just keeps getting better!

Second time staying here for family event. Was as quiet and comfortable as first time- not disappointed at all. Like the small kitchenette with good size refrigerator and freezer. only change i would recommend is their use of scented laundry detergent- sometimes can be over powering, especially for someone with scent-sensitivities.

I recently stayed at the Colonial Motel of North East, PA, and I was blown away by the incredible hospitality and kindness of the family who owns and operates it. After being caught in a long snow-related traffic jam, I arrived early Saturday morning feeling weary. The family went out of their way to accommodate me, helping me get into a room early and even offering food to make sure I was comfortable. Their genuine care and dedication to their guests truly stood out. The room was spotless, cozy, and exactly what I needed to recharge. It’s clear this family takes great pride in their business and treats their guests like extended family. If you’re ever in the area, I can’t recommend the Colonial Motel enough. A big thank you to the team for making my stay so memorable and showing what true hospitality is all about!

My favorite amenity was the leather recliner. I have never been in a hotel that had a real leather recliner. It was luxurious. I read all the other positive posts before my trip and was pleased to find all were true. I parked just feet from my door. I could not hear anything through the walls. Everything was brand new! I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone else.

July Colonial Motel Stay.

I had planned a visit to the North East, PA area and on previous visits had stayed at a chain motel in the area. I found the Colonial Motel listed online and saw that it had very favorable reviews so I decided to try it and was glad that I did. The motel is a single floor motel in an L shaped configuration with exterior entrances to the rooms where you can park your vehicle directly outside your room door. Check-in was quick and friendly. The motel looks like it was built in the 1950's or 60's but my room (and perhaps other rooms as well) appear to have been thoroughly remodeled and the room was spotless in regard to cleanliness. My room also had a larger sized mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, and a two gas burner stovetop along with a sink. A full complement of utensils and pots and pans were in the drawers. Cable TV, wall unit A/C, and wireless Internet were included as well. The room seemed to be well isolated from outside noise as room was very quiet and the motel is located in a relatively quiet setting aside from some traffic from nearby Route 5. All in all, I was very pleased with my stay at The Colonial Motel and I will plan to stay here again on future visits.

Days at the races

This motel never disappoints, that's why we stay here when the races are in town. Outstanding all the way around! See you next year.

Best motel ever

This is the nicest motel with the nicest owner I’ve ever been to. Very clean, beds were very comfy. The kitchenette was a huge plus for us. All the utensils and kitchenware were clean. I spent weeks trying to decide what place to book cause all the ones in the city are rated so low. Then I found this and I couldn’t believe the rating so low had to book it and now I see why it’s rated so high.

Wonderful

It was in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The family who owns it was very accommodating and pleasant to talk to. We will definitely look at them first next time we stay in Erie.
