Limehome Vitoria Palacio Álava-Velasco

10/10 Excellent
"We landed at this hotel after our VRBO fell out (confirmed reservation from VRBO, host said they rejected as full so we had to scramble). Very clean and well appointed. Price was a bit high due to the eclipse but VRBO covered the difference so it didnt matter much to us. The one challenge is that you'll def need wifi or phone service to check in (my french service wasnt cooperating). Great location and beautiful old building. Recommended!"

Gran Hotel Lakua

Gran Hotel Lakua

8/10 Good
"Building and frontage is looking a bit tired, rooms, parking and reception were fine. More of a business hotel, but easy to get a cab into town and the bus back. Breakfast was good, but the eggs were pre-cooked and cold, every day. Coffee and OJ was excellent."

Ibis Budget Bilbao Arrigorriaga

Ibis Budget Bilbao Arrigorriaga

8/10 Good
"If you can bear a value hotel, then you will be fine. It had a bed and facilities and it was peaceful. Everything is monetised; coffee, breakfast, wifi - all costs money. Its on a motorway in the middle of nowhere, and the toll road costs $1, bit annoying. The corridors stink of smoke and damp. Decor is dated horribly. But its fine."

  4. Consider your location: Opting to stay closer to key attractions or city centres can offer convenience, but it often comes with higher prices. For more affordable options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. You might also explore independent hotels located further out, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can provide a more genuine experience.
