Very comfortable bed in a clean and cozy room. The staff were all super friendly and very helpful. I will warn you, if you are unfamiliar with old buildings in NY, give the hot water a couple minutes to get going before you shower.

For lower-east Manhattan, the Gatsby Hotel is a pretty good value. It is a good compromise if you don't want to pay out the nose but also don't want to stay in a dive. The room was clean and actually the size it looked in the online photos. The beds were quite comfy - and I am picky! Two small items it would be good for the hotel to address is adding more electrical outlets and tending to repairs. Our TP holder was upended without one end installed, if you can picture that. It was difficult not to dump the TP on the floor. I appreciated the tourism literature in the lobby, and I was glad there was the little lounge by reception so I could get a free coffee in the mornings! Great location for our purposes!

Staff very accommodating. Room was clean but very noisy from traffic on E Houston Street. Hot water literally took 10 minutes or more to arrive in the shower. The “Resort Fee” was unwelcome and for what reason??

The accessible room was "Garden Apartment Style" -- i.e. in the basement --but this was a small, clean, quiet well-kept hotel in a perfect location for my needs. Nothing fancy but highly recommended for anyone who wants to be located in the West Village, SoHo, Lower East Side.

The hotel is fine if you're planning on being out all day and just sleeping there. The handle to turn on our shower was broken and the mattress slid every time you sat on the bed. Other things like the handles to the closet were broken but that didn't really impact our stay - just made it feel a bit more janky. I will say that we appreciated the strong AC in the room especially during the heat wave. The room got the job done but I probably wouldn't stay here again.

The location is great. It’s close and walkable to many places like Soho, whole foods, many restaurants, etc. The AC worked great. The only thing is two out of the three plugs in our room barely worked. The TV was there but couldn’t turn on. Just FYI, you will have to pay around $16/night for amenity fees tht u can’t deny. If u care about saving money and having access to everywhere, it’s okay but it’s def not luxury.

Best location in NY -- the heart of downtown. The room was beautiful, the water was warm, even hot if needed. Our room was on the 5th floor. AC worked great. Some noise on Saturday night at 2 am and 4 am -- when the bars close, it sounded like the police were on hand to help the college students keep control of themselves. The people who staffed the front desk were not open to questions, however the breakfast staff and the room attendants were helpful. Breakfast was just fine -- hot coffee, hot chocolate.

This is a great option it you’re on a budget. It’s not a 5 star hotel, and there are some things that are a little annoying (hot water can be iffy, internet is not great) but for this price, it’s an amazing bargain. It’s clean and its stylish. I’d stay there again. And I used to live in the neighborhood, so it was fun to be there again!

The hotel was definitely in need of some repairs and maintenance throughout. It was fairly dirty and damaged generally speaking. The staff was really helpful but there was no way they could keep up with the demand as the key machine was broken. You had to get the front desk person to let you into your room each time you arrived, and they were often helping other people so we had to wait to get access, then get on an extremely slow elevator if there was room. The AC had not been on in our room when we arrived so it was very humid and hot, and smelly. The lock was missing on our door, and the window was damaged…. Kind of obstructed the “park view” we were supposed to have. Overall I would not recommend as I think there are better options for the same price.

The hotel greatly exceeded my expectations. There is a great area where you can sit, have hot chocolate, coffee, and heat up any food you have. I was surprised the rates were so reasonable when I found it on Expedia, and the service was exactly what you look for in a hotel. I will be recommending this hotel for anyone who wants a great stay in a place where you feel safe comfortable and not breaking the bank and right next to so many attractions , I will definitely be coming here again.
Bathtub/ shower has if you need any.

The comfortable pillow top mattress with each side having enough room for plugs and to charge and put you things next to you.
