Beautiful boutique hostel for travel stop
We stayed 6 nights spread out over 3 different stayed and felt very much at home each time we were greeted anew. Santa Marta is a good spot to depart on further stays at the coast and adventure travels. In between we stored part of our luggage which made for good convenience when travelling onwards. The staff is very engaged and tries their best to deliver a pleasant stay. The whole hostel is recently redone but left the old structures intact. The floor tiles and now turquoise shutters are gorgeous. It is a lovely take on vintage and lets you have this back in the day feel with a modern take. All rooms have new en suite bathrooms. The location is good in our opinion, a little away from the noisy backpack area, but close enough to walk to all the good restaurants (Santa Marta has a surprisingly good emerging food scene.). If you plan to take a bus out to the coast or Minca, the terminal at the Central Market is just 7 walkable blocks away. The breakfast is taken on the roof top and always offers fresh fruits, good jam, eggs and toast, and great coffee. The stars are the two dogs who are the mascots of La Bella Samaria. Would stay again.
