Sterling Darjeeling
"Sterling Darjeeling is a great place to stay for a trip to the area. The location is much better than anything close to the mall. You can avoid all the traffic and noise of central Darjeeling. Views of the valley and surround mountains are great. The staff is very helpful. If you’re traveling from the airport, you will get to the property much faster (hours) than any place close to the mall because of all the traffic even though it’s only a few kilometers away. I would highly recommend Sterling Darjeeling."
Planter's Heritage by Cilantro Collections - Mall Road
"The staff were great. The location was perfect and close to main Darjeeling mall. The floors in the room and multiple junctions in the lobby area are uneven which may cause discomfort and extra attention especially for elderly people."
Udaan Dekeling Resort Darjeeling
"Was not aware that the hotel doesn't offer eggs or alcohol. They should have mentioned on their website, especially for international guests."
The Elgin, Darjeeling
"Building is amazing perched on the hillside and the staff were lovely."

To fully appreciate the town's significant landmarks, cultural sites, and breathtaking natural scenery, it is advisable to stay for at least 2 to 3 days. During your visit, you can enjoy activities such as hiking to stunning viewpoints, exploring historic temples, witnessing spectacular sunrises over the mountains, and wandering through beautiful natural parks. Additionally, excursions to renowned universities and opportunities for rock climbing and admiring local flowers provide great value for money on a budget.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Darjeeling, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. To maximise your chances of savings, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com, keeping you informed about flash sales and special promotions. Additionally, utilise Smart Shopping via the app to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're well-informed if rooms become available or prices drop, making it easier to secure a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, having some flexibility with your travel dates could assist you in finding a more economical option for your stay in a hotel in Darjeeling. For those interested in distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially greater value. When you make a booking with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that might offer a more budget-friendly option.
- Consider your location: Opting for accommodation closer to key attractions or city centres may offer convenience, but it often comes with higher expenses. For more budget-friendly options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. You may also want to explore independent hotels located further afield, as they are usually more likely to be affordable and can provide a more authentic experience.
