We did not realize that this was a brand new hotel! And considering it had just opened a month before, things were running very well. It's a high end boutique international hotel with delightful quirky touches throughout. Ideally located in Akureyri with everything in walking distance. We had a very informative conversation with the bartenders the one night we stopped at the bar to get an after dinner drink. The room itself was spacious and well appointed. I was a big fan of all the patterns and prints and wallpapers.

Skáld Hotel was the best hotel we stayed at during our 8-day road trip around Iceland. We stayed in one of the apartments with our two children and absolutely loved it. It was extremely comfortable, spacious and very well designed, with two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms, which made it perfect for a family of four. Everything felt modern, thoughtfully planned and very comfortable. Breakfast was also really nice, with a good selection and quality, and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would mention is the restaurant service in the evening. We had dinner there twice, and unfortunately both times our food was significantly delayed. We waited around an hour, or even longer, after ordering, so this is definitely something that could be improved. Other than that, everything was perfect. A beautiful, comfortable and very well-designed hotel, and easily our favorite accommodation during our trip around Iceland. We would definitely stay here again.

Noch nie erlebt, dass in einem 4-Sterne-Hotel das Zimmer erst nach Aufforderung gemacht wird. Eimer werden dann trotzdem nicht geleert und auch der Boden wird nicht gereinigt. Wenn man isländisch spricht, ist das Personal sehr bemüht, ansonsten pflichtbewusst höflich. Das Hotel an und für sich war schön und sehr neu, tadelloser Zustand.
