The Shore Hotel & Residences

The Shore Hotel & Residences

8/10 Good
"The hotel is managed with a 24-hr check in counter with housekeeping on standby, Daily room cleaning or towel change is not provided unless if you request for it. The breakfast provides a wide variety and the food was fresh and delicious. One downside is the elevator crowd during peak hours where we had to wait a long time for the elevator to arrive and a long time inside the elevator to reach our floor. The hotel tried to mitigate the situation by having a staff to operate the elevator but I am unsure how effective this is. As such, all travellers should plan their timings to accomodate this added waiting time. Location wise, the hotel is located in a central area with plenty of food options around. A short taxi ride away will bring you to major attractions. Overall, I still think it is a good hotel to stay in even with the minor inconveniences."

The Nest House

The Nest House

10/10 Excellent
"The Nest House is a small boutique hotel around a kilometer east of the old part (Chinatown/Jonker Walk) of Malacca. The hotel is off the main street, so it's quiet, and the property is well-designed and well-cared for. The staff are friendly and attentive and I had a great stay (just over a week). The hotel is shoes-off at the front door, and there's no gym or pool or restaurant or any of that. There are plenty of excellent food options nearby, including a shopping mall with a supermarket, and it's easy and inexpensive to get a Grab to Chinatown/Jonker where there are even more options. I would definitely stay again."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Malacca City

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Malacca City is during July, October, and November, when hotel prices are generally lower. For a truly enriching experience, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to thoroughly explore the city's significant landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions. During your visit, you can enjoy family-friendly activities, indulge in local dining, shop for unique souvenirs, and take leisurely walks along the river while soaking in the vibrant culture and festivals. Additionally, the city's temples and historical sites offer a glimpse into its rich heritage, making it a destination that provides great value for money.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover potential last-minute deals for hotels in Malacca City, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates as your travel date approaches. You might also consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you remain updated on opportunities to save. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you make informed choices. With these options, you're more likely to seize the perfect last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may differ depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay in a Malacca City hotel. For those seeking unique experiences, boutique hotels may offer a more personalised experience and sometimes even better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest more affordable dates to help you find a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Malacca City's excellent public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often remarkable value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
