As a born & raised NYer who still loves my city, Santiago is a great city with everything I expect from a city of 7M ppl. Subway systems, buses, large, high-rise office buildings along with beautiful traditional architecture. It was a great vacation!

It's a city in a breathtaking setting. However it does have problems. I was mugged in broad daylight by 2 young men who grabbed my necklace. I did manage to hang onto it but sustained a minor injury. Locals told us this was common. Tourists beware!

Nothing really stays open late in Santiago. The city generally shuts down by 9, except Bellavista. As such, finding a place to go for a snack or a late dinner is quite difficult. Even the metro shuts down somewhat early - 10:30/11:00.

Huge city. We enjoyed the Lastarria area, which includes Museo de Artes Visuales, a street market, and a cultural center; also Bellavista, el Centro, and Vitacura. We went to Amaia, one of the Mapuche restaurants in Santiago.

Aside from being the capital of Chile there wasn't much to see aside from the Museums, Plaza de Armas and La Moneda. That being said, I really appreciated the free access to several Museums and the easy to use Transit system.

It was our first time in Santiago. We had a wonderful walking tour which was great value. Guru walk. Also the hop on hop off bus is a good option to get around the city and learn some history.

Used to be an extraordinary , clean and safe city. Unfortunately too many new problems of vandalism and crime from people that are not Chileans are polluting the city and the country's reputation

City that combines contemporary skyscrapers with colonial buildings in downtown, surrounded by Andes!
"Excellent hotel. Well kept property with superb staff and food (breakfast). Meters away from the metro station and shopping centers/restaurants. Highly recommended. "
"Excellent five night stay! Room I had was perfect - modern and spacious. I appreciated the separate sleeping area and kitchen. On-site restaurant and coffee shop also a bonus. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!"
