Second stay at Prairie Rose and will book again. Love the nostalgia of the place and the decor of the rooms. Beds are very comfortable. Bathroom amenities are provided. Lots of room space. There’s a great bar and dining service with a couple of large screens for watching sport broadcasts. Restaurant menu in room along with small bottled waters was very nice. The hotel, including the room decor, was very nice and had a unique old-country feel to it. Check-in was a little odd, as we checked in at the bar while ordering dinner. The food was fine. By about 9:30 p.m., the staff was gone, so it felt like you were on your own for the rest of the evening. Unfortunately, the A/C in our room would turn on but wouldn’t actually blow any air, which made for a very uncomfortable night. On the positive side, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. One other thing that surprised me was the 10:00 a.m. checkout time. In my experience, 11:00 a.m. to noon is much more common, so 10:00 a.m. felt unusually early. Overall, the hotel had a lot of charm and character, but there were a few things that could definitely be improved.
