ANC Resort
"The apartment was really nice, clean, modern and spacious for 4 of us. The air con was good and kept us cool and we got great WiFi signal. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with reduced mobility, our room did not have a balcony which we definitely missed. But you can probably be specific on your booking if you want one. The pool provided beautiful views and wasn't cold. The larger pool is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and pretty bare, there are loungers but no options for shade. It looks as though some work may be due to take place around there. We did not have breakfast at the onsite restaurant, we did enjoy a lunch and an evening meal there. The food was delicious but a little pricey, so probably not ideal to eat there every day. We managed to cook two pasta meals in the apartment using the small hob. There is no oven but there was a microwave and a dishwasher which was useful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it."
Doubletree By Hilton Lagoa Azores
"I came to Sao Miguel with my parents who are both in their mid-70’s. Prior to arriving I had requested an adjoining room. We were not able to get in on arrival but hotel staff worked quickly and deligently to get us adjoining rooms the very next day! Staff were extremely helpful, friendly, welcoming, pleasant, accommodating and overall just very genuine and nice! We felt recognized and catered too and we really do appreciate that - especially when traveling with older parents! Parking is free, the area is very safe. Super market close by however the two onsite restaurants are great eats as well! Definitely take advantage of the SPA for half a day of relaxation after all the exploring. The hotel is situated right off of the main highway which is ideal if you want to explore the island (which you obviously should). We went into Ponta Del Garda numerous times for dinner and it’s only a 12 min drive away! I would choose this hotel again in a heart beat when I come back! Big shout out and thanks to Christina and Nicole who took care of us and our requests! There was a female bartender who was super nice as well but I forget her name. See you again!"
