This is still a fairly new venture for the Harley team and they are doing a great job. Its in a small central street of Aberystwyth and only a few minutes walk to the wonderful sea front promenade which is an absolute must daily to walk along to watch the tide come in or out or go for a swim . Bars and great variety of eating places are all nearby. Theres so much to do and see in Aberystwyth and the Tourist Information is again only a few minutes away. This is Wales and so the sun may not always shine but the sea air is so healthy -and I love it. As I do the small independent shops, Art exhibitions, events programme. Mountain walks . Sense of ancient Aberystwyth traditions sit comfortably with modern amenities here. Its great value for the price of a nights stay.I had four nights here and found the spacious room and ensuite really clean and slept better than I do often at home! There are stairs in this small hotel but the staff are a phone call away to help with carrying luggage if needed. Im a senior and felt instantly relaxed here. Really comfortable bed and pleasant issues are soon sorted out by the lovely efficient friendly staff. I look forward to my next stay.

The room was clean and amenities provided adequate. Parking is an issue and depends on the availability of an unsupervised pay-and-display car park at a church that is within a 5 minute walk. There is a process to be followed (via codes and lockbox) to gain access to the hotel via a door beside waste bins. Information on this is provided remotely by a helpful staff member, The staff member engaged for this (Heather) was friendly and very helpful over the phone). The hotel is also a nightclub and hence guests need to be aware and prepared for loud music until the early hours on Fridays and Saturdays. (Ear-plugs were provided). The location of the hotel is very convenient for the beach/waterfront and is a short walk from the central area of town.

Check in was "challenging" in that there was no reception, just a sign on the door with a phone number which was not answered after multiple attempts. It would appear the main building (downstairs) has recently closed where I assume a check in desk would have been. A former employee walked past and very kindly stopped and called a myriad of numbers and eventually got through to somone in the hotel who opened the main door. On entering the building, a birds worth of feathers were at the base of the stairs next to the lock boxes with keys in- not the most welcoming.... Again without the former employee passing by and stopping would have had no idea what code was to access room keys. A message was received from the hotel thanking me for my visit the day before I arrived on hotels.com app but no other communication. The room itself was fine for a more budget cost, however the UHT milk was out of date. I don't usually write reviews but sharing this to encourage future visitors to ensure they make contact with the property and obtain door and lock box codes before arrival. If it was not for the former employee I would have had to find another hotel as no means of contacting.

Did the job

Clear instructions to check in. Room was clean and well equipped. Bed was reasonably comfortable. The room was very warm. There is heat coming from the floor and the windows can’t be opened. Two large stand fans are provided help’s but some form of air con is needed. Place felt secure and was quiet, though the club wasn’t open.

Never encountered any staff, so I cannot comment there. The room was larger than I expected. It was neat and clean but a little worn. They warn you it is loud-this is very true. I could not find any earplugs in the local shops. They should consider leaving disposable earplugs for guests.

Would have liked some toilet paper!

The room was nice and cosy (not small cosy). The hot tap in the bathroom was leaking and the dripping noise was unpleasant. This probably had a knock on effect on the heat of the shower. Not a full toilet roll when we arrived and no spare, so we had to go out and buy some. Parking outside is free from 6pm to 9am. Slightly ill fitting blind on the window, which let in a lot of light from the street. Bed was comfortable and bedding was good.

I was concerned about the potential for noise pollution, considering that the accommodation was located above a bar (this wasn't apparent prior to booking and I feel that it should have been) however, we stayed Wed/Thur night and we didn't find noise to be an issue; it was very quiet. Entering the accommodation via a side entraced where the bins were stored was a little disconcerting (poorly lit) but once inside we felt very safe. It was very clean and comfortable, the only things of note was that the bed base was damaged creating a big dip in one side of the bed (we stuffed a couple pillows underneath and that did the trick!) and the bathroom door didn't shut properly. It would have been nice to have more milk, a mini fridge, spare loo roll and spare bin bag. It was okay for a 2 night stay, it was cheap and cheerful. Would I stay again, maybe...

The room and bed was massive and both the room and bathroom was very clean . A little note on arrival was very welcoming and a lovely touch. Plenty of shops bars and places to eat right on the doorstep. The nightclub was closed so the only noise was from the seagulls and pigeons . Would recommend.

Great stay!

I had a great six night stay here--it was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. I had no problem with the pub/nightclub noise, but if you're sensitive or a light sleeper, you should read the listing carefully and make an informed decision. I would absolutely stay here again.
