This small fishing village wraps you in pure Adriatic charm with its picture-perfect harbor where colorful boats bob against stone buildings. Stroll the waterfront promenade at sunset for jaw-dropping views, or find your own patch of pebbled beach for a refreshing dip. Milna's winding cobblestone streets lead to St. Nicholas Church and hidden spots where you can escape the crowds. Traditional konobas serve up fresh-caught seafood and local wines on terraces overlooking turquoise waters. The village is totally walkable, with family-run guesthouses and apartments tucked into historic stone buildings. Seasonal boat taxis make island-hopping a breeze when you're ready to explore beyond this peaceful Dalmatian haven.

Križni rat

Learn more about Hvar
Between the lavender-scented hills and crystal Adriatic waters, a medieval town unfolds like a historical treasure map. Climb to Hvar Fortress for panoramic views that explain why Venetians fought to control this strategic harbor. The 1612 theater – one of Europe's oldest – anchors a cultural scene that would impress cities ten times its size. By day, sail to the Pakleni Islands' hidden coves where the water shifts between impossible shades of blue. After sunset, the harbor transforms as yachts disgorge beautiful people into seafront bars. For a quieter experience, explore the stone lanes behind St. Stephen's Square, where locals tend centuries-old family homes. The beaches at Mekicevica and Pokonji Dol offer perfect swimming without the crowds of the main harbor.

Podstine Hotel
"Location on the edge of the sea was beautiful - with sunloungers available and access for swimming directly in the sea. It was a little bit further out of Hvar Town than we would have liked but it was walkable (just very hot in July) and the taxi to town was Euro20. Breakfast was lovely - especially if you get down early enough to get one of the few outdoor tables with a sea view. Comfort rooms were quite small but well maintained."
Forkira Luxury Hvar
"Wonderful experience staying at this villa in Hvar. The air-conditioning worked great, which made a huge difference in the summer heat. The location was fantastic, just one block from the Square, and despite that we barely heard any noise from outside. The room itself was stunning, spotless, and beautifully renovated with a modern touch. Our host Sanja went above and beyond, always ready to help and full of great local tips. This was my husband’s first trip to Croatia and he was blown away. We’d come back in a heartbeat. Another really good thing to know is that there’s a farmers market literally a five minute walk around the corner and there was great fresh produce!! We put our kitchen in use!"
Vila Lacman
"Perfect stay, close to the center by a brisk walk enjoying the views of the port. The host are very friendly and helpful."
Heritage Hotel Dea Hvar
"Very tight bathroom up a precarious couple of stairs- bad design. Staff needs training."

And the walk into the main town where the port is is stunning and Short and there is so much to do there. I would stay here again. Rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. Ample food to choose from and it was just pure fun."
