8/10 Very Good

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights . The location could not be better ! The old town with food and shopping were but a minute or so away. It is though located on a very busy road that has the tram running along it so it was very loud. The accommodation was a bit rougher around the edges than expected with some extra cleaning probably needed in some places but not bad for the price.

B&B, NOT a hotel, great location
Good stay, the woman at the desk was overly helpful with Bosnian and tourist related things. Generally speaking, the room was clean, modern AC unit and radiators. Some notes though: first, this is NOT a hotel, it's a bed and breakfast with only 4 rooms, and getting in after hours was a total pain in the ass. Second, it reeks of cigarettes all over (not in my room though), which a hotel likely wouldn't as much. Location was absolutely perfect.

Great service and comfort in touristy area of Sara
My wife and I have spent the past 3 weeks touring Bosnia and Croatia and, without question, Hotel Divan offered the best hospitality. When an innocent booking mistake left our room up in the air, they upgraded us to a larger apartment suite for free, helped us haul our luggage up the hill leading to it, made us breakfast after the designated time when we were too exhausted to make it to breakfast during the normal hours, and made some fabulous recommendations for our tour of Sarajevo. Wonderful, friendly people.

Best hotel in Eastern Europe
Hotel divan is in the perfect location for anyone who doesn’t want to take a taxi. Upon arrival, I asked if they had a room with a view available for upgrade. She showed me pictures of their apartment on the hill (not attached to the hotel) and I jumped on it! It’s 100 meters away, so super close for coming down for breakfast in the morning. The younger woman helped me get situated, plan out my few days in the city, explained where to go so I could get a bus ticket to Mostar or Dubrovnik, then walked me up to the apartment. There, a slightly older woman met me and showed me where everything was - washer, hanging rack, wine glasses, tv remotes (one in bedroom and one in living room). Then she opened the doors to the balcony and I almost hugged her! So gorgeous, huge panoramic of the entire city and valley. I had already planned my instagram picture haha :) The breakfast has several types of bread, cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt, cheese, meat, tomatoes, cucumber, olives and she even asked me if I wanted fried eggs or an omelette. She came out with eggs in a hole and I loved it! Such a nice touch. She continuously checked in on me and helped me feel safe as a solo female traveler. They will also let you keep your bags there after check out. I almost felt badly leaving because they were so nice!

“Excellent service, wonderful room and a great l
Beautiful hotel with incredible views of the part of old town, it was amazing! The room was one of the nicest we've ever stayed in and very spacious. As stated by other reviewers we found the staff to be excellent, incredibly helpful and also always welcomed us by name when we passed through the 'lobby'. This is an outstanding hotel. Many thanks to Malika and Dada for all suggestions. Overall a fantastic experience and so glad we chose to stay at the Hotel Divan.

Wonderful small heritage hotel/ Center of Old Town
I cannot think of a much better experience to have with a hotel. From the moment we stepped foot in the front door we had incredible service from the front desk. We often referred back to them if we had questions about the city. Staff were extremely friendly! The room was fantastic. Large - big windows - quiet (we did not face the main/busy street). Our friends stay at Apartmant of Hotel Divan, 200 meters from us, The 4th floor with terrace with amaaaziiing view, it was definitely utilized during our stay. Every morning we had a very good breakfast (except the one morning we left too early - they had breakfast in a bag waiting for us, though, as we had discussed it in advance). It was hard to leave after one (okay - two) glasses of wine! It was a great place to meet other travelers as well. We were shocked to be staying at such a nice place for so little money.

Could be good - but some issues...
Good location - but some shortfalls. The hotel does not take payment by any other means than cash - which means they cannot take a credit/debit card to guarantee payment. They therefore insist on holding the passports of guests behind reception - something that I was not happy to do. (I've had one lost/stolen like this before and it was a nightmare). Also, the price charged was more that quoted by Hotels.com. Finally, the safe in my room was just loose in the bottom of the closet and not secured to anything. Totally useless! Good location, ok hotel. Just a shame about these issues.

convenient ,modern & close to old town
Very convenient location right near old town and many restaurants. Hotel staff were friendly, welcoming, and had maps and recommendations available. They also let us leave our luggage downstairs til the afternoon. Parking was a bit inconvenient and we had to carry our luggage down but it was only 7 euros a day. Our room was comfortable and roomy. Bathroom was on the small side .

Beautiful hotel with friendly owners
Feeling of comfort, thanks to the friendly owners which are willing to give any information needed from a tourist who likes to feel like a Roman for a few days. The location is super! Neighbourhood is authentic ,not much crowdy, Maxx museum is located on the next corner and the heart of the town in a distance in 3 min. by walking. Room had a style of elegance and it was PERFECTLY CLEAN. The breakfast was a surprise! A lot of home made, everyday something different, beautiful display, flowers, music... We had an amazing stay there.

This hotel is part of Sarajevo's old town and close to almost everything. It is well run and kept with professional staff that support their guest where ever possible. I would use the hotel again when back.

Everything is perfest at Hotel Divan
I chose this Hotel because of the great reviews, and the reviewers were right. It was very easy to find and an easy 5 min walk to the Bascarsija, museum entrances/ mosque, church, synagogue. My wife and I met Melika who gave us great tips and recommendations. She was in touch with us every day during our three night stay to make sure we were ok. The well stocked kitchen had everything we needed. The place was very clean and well maintained also. I felt I made a good choice staying here. The streets around the neighborhood are bustling because of the close proximity to the Bascarsija, but at night, it is very quiet. The restaurant next door was recommended by Melika and we had a very pleasant meal there. I really can't think of anything bad to say about this place. Next time I am in Sarajevo, I will definitely stay here again.

Great location. Wonderful little place!
PROS: Great, like-new, small hotel. Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great breakfast! (pate, espresso, veggies, eggs) Awesome location! The Bascarsija square is just around the corner! Great small patio. CONS: Narrow streets with location unclear for foreigners. I wish hotel sign was BIGGER. CALL THEM to advise your arrival time, as they may cancel/give it away after 6PM. OVERALL: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Very friendly
Great location, nice rooms. Only two small quibbles: wifi was unreliable, and as is the case all over Bosnia, there is cigarette smoke everywhere. Nevertheless, I would book again.

:(
This was NOT a good experience for us. The location is good but the hotel is not. The "king" bed was actually two single mattresses connected in the middle, the balcony makes you feel like you're in a prison, they hold your passport until check out, and the breakfast is far less than average. I would not recommend this to travelers, stay at a hostel and you'll most likely get more comfort than you will at divan. Sorry for being so critical but we really didn't find this hotel acceptable for the price. We still love Expedia!

Good Location & Clean
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is perfect for discovering the old town of Sarajevo. It's located in the heart of old town Sarajevo. The hotel is super clean, quiet and the staff is friendly. Parking is huge problem for this hotel as we had to park 20 minutes walking distance from it. There was simply no parking available anywhere near by on a Tuesday mid day.
