Dust off those cowboy boots for Cheyenne Frontier Days, the world's largest outdoor rodeo where genuine Western culture isn't just history but daily life. The Wyoming State Museum and Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum tell tales of frontier life without sugar-coating the challenges. Downtown's wooden sidewalks lead past saloons where locals still debate cattle prices over cold beers. The Wyoming State Capitol and Historic Governors' Mansion offer glimpses into political life on the frontier. Between rodeo events, browse Frontier Mall or catch live music where performers don't just sing about cowboys—they are cowboys. The Nelson Museum and Cowgirls of the West Museum celebrate often-overlooked frontier women who were just as tough as the men.

"Very nice people"
Comfort Suites Cheyenne
"Not enough carts for luggage, I have a bad hip, my husband just got out out of a boot from a broken ankle, no carts when I checked in, waited 15 more minutes as staff said people had just checked in, never saw anyone else in the lobby, so we carried everything in, it took 4 trips, still no cart. I did find one in the morning, it made checking out much easier, everything else was great!"
Tru by Hilton Cheyenne WY
"Clean room"
My Place Hotel - Cheyenne, WY
"The room was very nice and clean, also was quiet. Would like a constant fan though, especially with the amount of trains going by (they are going slow and not blaring their horns, so it really is not bad, but you do hear them). Small kitchenette in the rooms with ice makers in the refrigerator. One thing I missed upon check in was that if you want the breakfast delivered to your room in the morning, you need to put in your order the evening before. Overall, very nice rooms at a fair price. This was my first stay in a “My Place”, but it certainly will not be my last."

A stay of at least 2 to 3 days is ideal for uncovering key landmarks, historical sites, museums, libraries, shopping areas, dining options, wildlife excursions, temples, entertainment venues, and opportunities for horseback riding. This period offers great value for money, allowing travellers to immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of Cheyenne without straining their finances.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com may offer enticing hotel deals to Cheyenne. You could find discounted rates by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals section, where last-minute offers appear near your travel date. Additionally, you’re more likely to see flash sales and special promotions by enabling email alerts or push notifications. The Smart Shopping tool in the app is a handy comparison tool that may help you compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you stay informed if rooms become available or prices drop for your last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your dates might help you save on your stay in a Cheyenne hotel. For those seeking unique experiences, boutique hotels can offer a more personalised touch and occasionally better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is higher or lower than average, and if it appears to be on the higher side, we might suggest more affordable dates to help you potentially secure a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels in close proximity to the city centre generally command higher prices, yet thanks to Cheyenne’s superb public transport links, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less congested neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
