"Stayed 3 nights with my wife. Hotel was semi comfortable. Good location. Close to the Plymouth waterfront and a lot of restaurants and shopping close by. Free parking and breakfast was pretty good in the mornings. Unfortunately the bed was a bit hard and the pillows too soft. Also upon entering our room, we found large breadcrumbs under the couch telling us housekeeping missed a few things. Otherwise was very a good stay. Would recommend."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Plymouth

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Plymouth is during January, February, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to experience the city’s rich history and culture, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This duration allows you to explore key landmarks, such as historical monuments and museums, as well as enjoy activities like whalewatching, dining by the sea, and shopping at the port. Planning your trip during these months could offer great value for money while you discover Plymouth's captivating attractions.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com may offer opportunities to secure discounted hotel stays to Plymouth when you explore the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections, which often showcase attractive offers near your travel date. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to receive updates on flash sales and last-minute promotions. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool, available via the app, helps travelers compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you remain informed about any changes in room availability or price reductions.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you find better rates for your stay in a Plymouth hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and potentially greater value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could offer more affordable options, assisting you in your search for a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Plymouth's superb public transport links, you may find a more affordable independent hotel located further out that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
