Coombe Farm
"Coombe Farm is very beautiful & quiet with easy parking & picturesque surroundings. The property is off the B3253 which runs below the Widegates so do not use the postcode & I recommend what3words or dropping a pin onto Google maps rather than following a traditional satnav. If you enter the driveway from the east, it is a very tight corner so take it wide & slow & be careful of traffic if you leave in that direction. We stayed 2 nights in Lily Loveday, the middle cottage of the three & the beautiful wooden door opens straight into the room with a bathroom accessed from the back wall. The décor is contemporary & a tea tray is provided along with bottled water. Gemma offers daily housekeeping & top ups, which we didn’t need. The flagstone floor is cool & although it was a warm October weekend, we were grateful for the heater to take the chill off. The ironing board is a mini, tabletop one which is OK for t-shirts but no good for trousers or dresses. I would prefer a full size one slipped down the side of the wardrobe, even if it spoils the room aesthetics slightly. I’ve seen a suggestion of having a microwave provided but I disagree as the food smells would linger & taint the furnishings. Be aware that the front door is classed as a fire exit so, as a requirement by law, it is labelled & illuminated as such. As it is directly opposite the bed, the green glow is particularly noticeable overnight, but it does mean you don’t have to turn the light on to use the bathroom."
Fieldhead Hotel
"Brilliant Holiday thankyou. Staff more than helpful and very polite. They had a wifi upgrade during our stay and went out of their way to keep us informed on progress. Quite a climb up to room but Hotel is on side of a steep hill with amazing views from Balcony Sea View Rooms so you kind of cannot get amazing views without the steps exercise up to the rooms but maybe in the future a lift may be the icing on the cake? Room was spotlessly clean and regularly serviced. Continental breakfast had excellent breadth of products from Crumpets to various cereals to yoghurts to fresh fruit and croissants with a cooked breakfast option if preordered the night before. Rooms have a really useful and unusual self catering option with hot plates, kettle, fridge and microwave all built into a swish sink unit that is great for doing a meal or two or a basic breakfast to eat on the balcony. A rare possibility in any hotel. Thought the FieldHead Hotel was great. Parking was pretty easy once you initially find the steep entrance route in. Best to forget the car once you park up. Cornish Shanty singing in The Old Ship Pub in West Looe on Thurs Night was a traditional Gem and this fab little pub behind the Fire Station has timbers in its construction from The Sunk ships from the Spanish Armada and later additions in its extension from Timbers from ships sunk in the battle of Trafalgar! And the foods amazing there so check it out!"
The Gate Cornwall
"Such a great stay with family. The facilities are great, lots of games and space to get together and relax. Room were beautiful with lovely bathrooms. Staff were really genuine and super helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a relaxed and homey place still local to lots of things to do."
Dolphin Guest House
"We had the King room on the 2nd floor. And whilst it didn't have a view, the room was really comfy with a small sofa, window seat and even a dressing table. Breakfast was really tasty - great choice and friendly service."
Tencreek Holiday Park
"Eveything was perfect ,unless they have not provided any toileteries ..."
