The resort itself was very nice and clean All staff was friendly and accommodating The restaurant was not at all what we were expecting for the price. I would compare our dinner to a chilis experience and our breakfast was what you would get at a Hampton inn. We are not one to complain but we were that disappointed with the restaurant We would go back to the resort but not the restaurant unfortunately

Great property & terrific staff
Wonderful staff. Beautiful property. We’ve stayed multiple times love it. We stayed there the weekend of the flooding due to hurricane Helene the property did their best in light of no internet no WiFi and limited staff bc of storm - the staff there were terrific! Kind, helpful, dedicated. They prepared prepackaged meals and had buffets open even with limited staff due to storm - thoughtful and helpful. We will be back!

4/10 Fair

First, we appreciate the staff for all their efforts and consideration. I know they try their best to make sure everyone is happy at Chetola. I have never seen so much Canadian geese droppings or crap on the resort areas. It was impossible to sit down or walk around anywhere to enjoy the lake and local scene much less walk your dog around without stepping in goose crap. You can control this situation – and still support the humane animal issue. Not acceptable for any resort for their quest. Overall, we found the resort to be in very poor condition – in need a remodeling or repair in several places. The attached picture shows the roof over the restaurant area – appears to be in terrible condition in fact a fire hazard with wood shingles. Second photo shows the paint flaking or peeling off the rails – needs a lot of work. Must be a financial situation with the current owners not taking responsibility for upgrades or repairing the facilities to maintain the resort. Really a shame – it’s a great place to visit but not again. As for the restaurant – very disappointed in the food and facilities. Dining one evening we were served dinner which was cold – even the soup as lukewarm. Had to request hot mash potatoes and hot rice along with hot green beans. Plus, it took forever to get our food from first course to second course – then it was cold. We tried again for breakfast but upon arrival we were told there was only one cook and one server with a 30-minute wait for

We spent close to a week at Chetola Resirt. The property and staff were excellent. The rooms were very comfortable. The proximity to downtown Blowing Rock was a real bonus as we walked into town most days. My only criticism is of the Timberlake restaurant. The food was not very good. In fact, our dinner there the first night of our stay was the worst of the week (there are a lot of excellent restaurants in and around Blowing Rock).

8/10 Very Good

The Lodge was wonderful but I would like to make the suggestion that the use of strong scented sprays be reconsidered. My friend and I entered our room right after being serviced and had to immediately open the door to the terrace and sit outside for quite some time waiting for the scent to dissipate. I would venture to guess that the ingredients are not healthy and for visitors with any kind of respiratory problem like asthma, COPD, and allergies it would not be appropriate and could be dangerous. I am in cancer treatment and I avoid toxins and chemicals in my home environment so when I am subjected to them in an area I cannot avoid it is difficult. There are many natural products available for use that are very effective and safe for those using them and those otherwise exposed to them. I believe your lovely lodge would benefit from a more natural approach to cleaning. Having a strong scent does not mean something is clean and in reality some of the products used can be not only toxic and dangerous but give the impression that something is being “covered up” rather than clean. I share these thoughts to be helpful and I hope it will not be viewed as snarky criticism. Your lodge and property are outstanding and I hope what I share is considered constructive. Kindly

I paid one night’s fee through Expedia, but was charged for the entire stay at the resort. When I questioned, the staff couldn’t explain how it’s handled between the resort and Expedia, and simply kept telling me ,”at our resort,….”, or “on our side,….”. As a former business woman, it was sad to see these young women not being able to explain the situation clearly to a customer, except repeating their side of story.

Chetola is a beautiful property but the Lodge is very tired and needs much updating. The rooms are similar to that of La Quinta. The staff is over the top friendly, which makes this day pleasurable.

Great Place, we will definitely try to stay there again!!! Only negative, I was charged an additional $27.22 more than the total I booked with Expedia and there were no additional charges on the Final Bill. I didn't challenge/dispute the difference because we had a great time.
