Could be great but needs investment
We only used the accommodation, so can’t comment on the food offered. The room was trying to be niche and quirky, but it didn’t quite manage it. Cheap furniture and scuffed skirting boards spoilt the look, and the window was damaged and couldn’t be sealed. Room was cold when we arrived, not welcoming but good environmentally I guess. The radiator worked fine.

Convenient for station and rail heritage centre
Pleasant stay, helpful staff, good restaurant and bar for evening meal, nice breakfast. Directly opposite Heritage Railway centre, unsurprisingly for a railway hotel trains were very audible although not intrusive (once windows closed; our room faced the station) and less frequent overnight.

Wonderful
We had a lovely short stay with the team at the Royal Station hotel. Beautiful building, clean and tidy with well appointed rooms with fridge, TV and ensuite. The hotel team were welcoming and friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Off site parking is literally across the street in the train station carpark and is reasonably priced. We were situated in a 3rd floor room, the srairs werent a problem for us but others may struggle. It also got very hot up there overnight, velux window let in a lovely breeze though which helped. In short this is a lovely hotel with a great team and good service standards. We will definitely come back. Thank you.

A lovely welcome to a lovely hotel
A lovely hotel with incredibly friendly staff! Reception managed to sort out a booking error, even though it was entirely my fault! Room was lovely, adjoining bar/restaurant was superb, and the breakfast was amazing!! Added benefit were the large number of EV chargers nearby. A lovelt overnight stay
