Noisy and stressful
Ok, so this hotel apparently ticks all the boxes. Right next to the sphinx, roof terrace with restaurant overlooking the pyramids, clean rooms, great breakfast etc. Thats until you notice THE NOISE. You see, in this hotel you can have either a standard back room, without window and a claustrophobic atmosphere. Or you can opt for a superior front room overlooking the pyramids. But then you also overlook the parking area for tour buses that are idling throughout the day. In the afternoon and at night the dogs take over, huge packs of dogs fight it out, barking and howling. Add to this constant honking and street chatter and top it all off with paper thin walls and windows that doesn´t close, and you have the noisiest hotel experience I´ve ever had. The solution is to opt for a cell-like back room without window. The staff do their best to try to compensate this by eagerly offering service, welcome drink, being helpful etc. But this ended up feeling a little pushy. I was also disappointed to find out that instead of giving me accurate information about the opening hours for the pyramids ticket office, the reception staff tried to convince me to join their tour. (The ticket office opens at 7, not 8 as he insisted). In the end, I ended up moving to a different hotel in central Cairo, as the whole experience of being in Giza and the pyramids felt like a total tourist trap. Sadly this important historical site has become a kind of Disneyland, just without the rides.

Average stay next to the pyramids
The hotel is situated very close to the pyramids which is great and the breakfast is also very big and tasty. We booked a room that didnt face the pyramids and there was no window in the room facing outside, just a small one facing the hallway. There is very insulation so you can hear other doors opening and closing that continued throughout the night. The room was also dated, with an old bathroom and decor. The price for food and the day trips were also a bit pricy.

The Essence of Egypt
The good: Staff extremely helpful and nice, breakfast at the rooftop with Pyramids view - outstanding. Breakfast staff exceptional. Pyramids view from room not as good but still very nice. Right beside side entrance to pyramids, you can observe morning hassle of hustlers on camels and horses rushing their way to start another day herrassing tourists. Very real experience. The bad: we were placed in hotel next door not the booked hotel. Very noisy, impossible to sleep, paper thin walls. We were moved to another, smaller room with only one bed while out from hotel without warning with some items left in drawers. Next night they tried to move us again to even worst room without balcony but fortunately we were at hotel. Looks like they overbook then juggle customers hoping all will work out. Dodgy neighborhood.

The staff are kind but the final balance of our stay was not great. When we arrived there was confusion regarding the payment we had already paid in advance but they charged us again. We managed to resolve it after contacting hotels.com. However, when we left when unpacking my bag I realized that a toiletry bag was missing with several things inside and it was a special objective. I reached out and the hotel did nothing but apologize. Overall I would recommend it but after that I was disappointed!

This was such a great hotel! The view from our balcony was incredible. The staff was so attentive and welcoming. There’s no elevator and one of the staff members, Alibabba, carried our luggage for us and made sure we had everything we needed. On the rooftop Hassan took great care of us serving an incredible breakfast that was included in the stay. Our welcome drinks were also delicious. The Wi-Fi was down and staff even helped share hotspots for us. Everyone was amazing and very hospitable. Would stay here again!

Staff are great. They try to pleasure everyone as much as possible. When I went to the rooftop for breakfast. Hassan was so caring & AWESOME. Abraham was also great on lunch time! One thing that bothered me was water leaking out the shower. There would be so much water on the bathroom floor. Not sure if that can be fixed.
