    Nice, clean, quiet Country Hotel.

Nice Country Hotel, the accommodation buildings are about 300M away from the main reception & dining building towards the sea. All are a modern construction, well maintained and very clean. Good coffee and tea making facilities are in the entrance lobbies to the accommodation buildings with relaxing lounge areas. Breakfast was good, well organised with a reasonable selection of cold foods. Author Thorbergur Thordarson grew up at the farm Hali in Sudursveit, they are very proud of him, his writing’s and have a museum dedicated to him. In fact the reception building itself is designed on the outside to look like a bookshelf with bookshelf ends.

Best place to stay in the south coast!

This was by far the best place we stayed during the two week - visit in Iceland! In addition to being spotless just like all the rest of the hotels/guesthouses we stayed here in Iceland, the room was actually decent in size - Icelandic standard of course, and with a standard sized sink in the bathroom! The best part is the fact that it has a very nice restaurant on site which makes it really convenient considering it is located in the middle of nowhere! Breakfast is included and it is very nice with a variety of choices. Love this hotel and will definitely come back again when return to Iceland!

    Very very nice

Everything was really nice and the room very comfortable and quiet. Nicest place of all we stayed at on our holiday. Only, it took us a while to figure out that the reception is at the museum/restaurant up the road and not anywhere near the rooms at all. Signage could have been better.

    Fantastic restaurant

Man at check in was not so pleasant. We booked two rooms, they put our children in a different building. Our room was nice and looked like the included photos, however our boys room looked old and very much like a dormitory. Hair dryer was difficult, it over heated every 30 seconds and took an additional 1-2 minutes to restart where this process would repeat itself. I will say that the restaurant was wonderful.

Loved it! Hope to return someday.

Amazing. Loved everything about the cottage we rented as well as the food and service at the onsite restaurant. Free breakfast buffet was wonderful and looked to have home made selection of sweet breads and smoked lamb. The cottage had a small grove of trees and beautiful wood deck. Very nice kitchen. Like home away from home.

Nice, comfortable hotel, close to glacier

My wife and I came to this hotel without expectations and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was great and the hotel includes breakfast which wasn't indicated on hotels.com. 15 minute drive from the glacier and diamond beach. The only things to note: 1. The hotel rooms are located in a different building than the reception / restaurant 2. We would normally walk between those two (5 minutes walk) but were explicitly told by staff to either drive or carry sticks to ward off the Arctic Turin birds which would possibly attack to defend their turf. 3. No hot breakfast items 4. The restaurant food was lovely for dinner... Make note that it closes at 8 Overall it was very nice, beds were comfortable, beautiful view of the water, and the room was quiet. We would come back.

    Great Place To Stay

This is a perfect location for thos wanting to stay at a mid-point between Vik & Hofn. VERY friendly, helpful, and courtesy staff. CLEAN! And the place is surrounded by gorgeous mountains and.... sheep. Yes, sheep. My wife was in heaven when she was able to go pet the little lambs behind the small fence. When we first arrived, we were a bit late for dinner, but I had called ahead and they said no problem, they'd still seat us. And then, after we FINALLY arrived (bad weather), the owner came over to welcome us. The ONLY isse was that the rooms do not have a refrigerator in them. However, we just put our bag of cold snacks in the fridge located in the lobby of the building we were in. OH, and also, BIG PLUS, they had a free coffee maker in the lobby of the building we were in. And that was very nice. Awesome everything. Enjoy
