8/10 Very Good

Maya tulum
The hotel charged a $50 fee for a second person, since when I searched it defaulted to one person. I would understand if I had extra people but 2 per room isn’t unreasonable. They also provided an upgrade but the $50 charge took away from that experience in the fact that I felt like I was forced to pay for a more expensive room. Overall great hotel, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Beautifully decorated.

what was bad
Electric power failed 2 to 5 times a day. That means no water shower tv or toilet. I think they were off the grid. Lighting in rooms was poor because not enough electricity for hotel. Probably running off generator.

Everything was amazing! The staff were super helpful! Upon check in my boyfriend and I got a free upgrade which was awesome and everyone was so welcoming! Sadly during the stay, my boyfriend and I were in an accident and the staff were very accommodating to our needs and helped us out with everything like bringing extra towels, pillows, ice, and even pizza to our room one night because we couldn’t move. Amazing staff, amazing place! Can’t recommend this place enough!

They charged me for an extra person. I had identified 2 people, I notified them a week in advance of 3. Had I put 3 originally through Travelocity there would have been no charge. They also made me pay $100 for use of the safe when I didn’t want to use the safe. Also, there was no electricity for 14 straight hours!!!!! No discount or provisions given to us.

2/10 Poor

I celebrated my 40th birthday by booking accommodations for me, my family and friends at this property and it was quite the negative experience to say the least. Our first two days of accommodations were met with rolling black outs. The power would go on and off intermittently lasting about 30 minutes each time. During this time we could not shower/use the toilet or AC as there was no running water and we had no use of the wifi at the property during these blackouts. The advertised restaurant was not open for dinner during our stay, but open for the Instagram “influencers” who stayed at the hotel for free the previous week, as per their Instagram posts. My cousins and my friends both had roach infestations in the rooms they booked. There was no yoga or spa facility available or offered to us during our stay as advertised. Upon sharing these grievances with the hotel front desk, we were initially told that we would not receive a refund. Upon checkout we were not offered a full refund due to the inconveniences we endured during our stay.

2/10 Poor

We arrived early so they told us we could go to the restaurant and utilize the pool while we waited. Basically, there was no consistent power at the hotel until Saturday evening. We experienced blackouts so no Air conditioning or lights and also effected the water for the faucets/toilets in your room. Main pool was never cleaned, no music at the pool due to no electricity but once electricity started working, they then said their speakers didn't work. The stench from the large mounds of seaweed will knock out if you aren’t prepared for it. No one ever tried to clean it up or remove for better beach access. We watched a maintenance man physically shut off the power to the exterior pathway lights Friday night creating a completely unsafe environment for guests to walk back to their rooms or anywhere on the property. Room was infested with cockroaches and spiders. The entire right side of my body is covered in bites leading me to believe that it was spiders and bed bugs. Housekeeping does not clean efficiently, they took the dirty towels but did but didn't replace with fresh ones, we had to request towels. Our plunge pool was NEVER cleaned so never got the chance to use that "amenity", manager promised he would have someone clean it. Doors are not properly sealed allowing whatever wildlife outdoors to enter your room. The cockroaches are out of control. After returning from dinner out, our friend had one running on his bed. Management offered us free cocktails and omelettes.

6/10 Good

Bit disappointed.
We booked 3 nights on the beach after our 5 days in the city. It was a bit of a disappointment. We were expecting some seaweed on the beach, knowing it is red tide season— but our stretch of the beach for our hotel was covered in smelly mounds of it versus the other beaches that had it significantly more under-control. Pretty disappointing for the price point of the hotel. The AC and power shut off multiple times which was frustrating, considering they already limit you to certain times of the day you can use it. The rooms get muggy and hot quick. Besides that, the service and amenities were great. Beautiful pool. But, the area it overpriced and difficult to enjoy when you pay too much for many inconveniences. The people were great though inside the resort.
