This hotel has been a wonderful find, in fact do much so that I changed some other reservations in the area to return to it on this trip. The room is wonderfully comfortable and up to date on all amenities. The service from staff is very attentive and the lobby quite comfortable. It is in the heart of what appears to be a key entertainment area in the Makati district of Manila, with everything you would need within a quick walk from the hotel. It is not a large skyscraper type hotel, but rather one of moderate size with someone with rather elegant tastes behind the design of it I would guess.

Quaint hotel in the center of the action in Makati
Having stayed at other Herald Suites properties before, was looking forward to trying Polaris. On the good side, the hotel is clean, has an interesting design and really quaint old Manila/Havana feel to it, serves a rather good breakfast and is in a part of the city that gives great accessibility to a wide variety of restaurants, malls, museums and other spots you might want to visit. The main downside is the room size. The rooms are really small compared to the other Herald properties. Good enough for a solo traveler for a night, maybe two, but friends/couples will be cramped. Really don't believe these rooms are 28sqm as was advertised. Other than the small room, you'll likely enjoy a stay here.
