Not a safe place to stay

The bathroom floor was coming up, the toilet handle was broken and the paint was peeling off the bed. That wasn't as bad as my service animal being aggressively approached by a man who was either drunk or mentally unstable. He growled at my dog and tried lunged at him to touch him. My dog maneuvered around him and gave him a correctional bark. I told the man not to touch my dog and quickly walked away. My service animal was so unsettled that we ended up leaving and sleeping in my car at the mall a few miles away. The man was also peeking through windows and checking door handles. He watched us unload our stuff in the room. I was quit uncomfortable. I should have left when the person checking me in was a very unfriendly greeter and I saw an armed security guard. The guard was nice and made sure we safely got to our car with our things. It is a creepy place and I'm glad my daughter was staying at someones house as I would have felt more uncomfortable having her there.
